¡Concrete and Copper Christmas!

Deze kerst ga ik het proberen: geen huis vol kerstversiering, maar beton, koper, wat (denne-) groen en sterren moeten het huis een gezellige maar minimalistische kerstsfeer geven...

Zondag begint de advent, dus langzaam mag ik starten met her en der wat versiering neer te zetten. 

Ik ben benieuwd of het me dit jaar gaat lukken het sober te houden...

This Christmas I hope I'll succeed: not a house filled with lots of Christmas decoration but concrete, copper, and some ((pine) green and stars have to give my home a cosy but minimalistic Christmas mood... Sunday it will be the first week of Advent, so I can start decorating the house. I am curious if I will succeed this year to keep it minimalistic... This is how I started.. ¡Have a happy evening! 

¡Instagram favourite: OuiOuiStudio!

Als iemand niet mag ontbreken in het rijtje van mijn Instagram favorieten dan is het wel Margreet van OuiOuiStudio! Ooit kreeg ik de vraag wie mijn Instagram crush is en ik dacht meteen aan haar mooie foto's. Dus tijd om de mooie foto's van Margreet in de spotlights te zetten.

Margreet is al vanaf jongs af aan al bezig met 'stylen' en interieur.

Volgens haar moeder sorteerde ze alles in de box al strak op kleur enz. Toen ze 14 was, kocht ze zelf stoeltjes, kastjes e.a. op rommelmarkten en verfde die meestal zwart of wit voor haar kamer en scheurde foto's uit tijdschriften. Haar kamer werd dan ook regelmatig onderhanden genomen. Haar mooiste aankoop was een pauwstoel toen ze 15 was.

Margreet houdt heel erg van Scandinavisch design, zwart, wit, grijs en hout en mooie planten en bloemen. Veel kleur vind je niet lang in haar huis. Haar inspiratie haalt ze overal vandaan, maar vooral via Pinterest, Instagram, blogs, fashion en tijdschriften.

Ik ben fan van de foto's van Margreet omdat ze altijd weer verassende combinaties weet te maken van foto's uit modetijdschriften en mooie interieur accessoires. Margreet maakt nog heel veel andere mooie foto's, maar hierbij een aantal van mijn favoriete stillevens!

If someone needs to be ment as my Instagram favourite, it has to be Margreet van OuiOuiStudio! Once I got the question who my Instagram crush and the first thing I thought about were her beautiful pictures. So time to put them in the spotlight! When Margreet was young she already enjoyed 'styling' and interior. Her mother told her that she was sorting out all her toys color by color. When she was 14 she bought al kind of chairs and closets for her room at flea markets end used pictures from magazines. Her room changed a lot and het best bury was a peacock chair. Margreet loves Scandinavian design, black, white, grey and wood and beautiful plants and flowers. If she uses color in her home it won't last long. She is inspired by lots of things but above all by Pinterest, Instagram, blogs, fashion and magazines. I am a fan of Margreets pictures because of the always surprising combinations she make with pictures from fashion magazines and beautiful interior accessories. Margreet makes a lot of a other beautiful pictures, but here are a few of my favourite still life's.

¡Designkwartier Den Haag #2!

Het hart van het Designkwartier, dat dit weekend in het Zeeheldenkwartier in Den Haag gehouden werd, bevindt zich in de altijd bruisende en inspirerende Piet Heinstraat. Naast alle mooie winkels zijn er heel veel pop-up stores te vinden en kun je een kijkje nemen in het bijzondere huis van Mary Hessing (hoofdredacteur van Eigen Huis & Tuin) dat voor een week is omgebouwd in een deginwarenhuis. Samen met LIVlicious en Googels & Voozels genoot ik van een lekkere lunch en veel inspiratie in deze straat.

Het leuke van het Designkwartier is dat je op plekken naar binnen kunt die anders gesloten zijn. In de mooie industriële ruimte van Holthuijzen belettering is een heuse design speelgoedwinkel met ontwerpen van o.a. Floris Hovers en By Tomm.

Veel designers hebben theedoeken in hun collectie. Bijna allemaal geweven in het Textielmuseum. Daarom is er Tijdens het Designkwartier is een speciale theedoeken pop-up store ingericht waar werk van o.a. Mae Engelgeer en Studio Job te koop is.

Ook The Fine Store heeft de winkel (die altijd al een design feestje is) in het kader van het Designkwartier extra opgefleurd met de mooie bloemen van Vlinder en Vogel en werk van Maartje van den Noord. Ik hoop dat haar mooie muurschildering in het portiek blijvend is.

Een van de mooiste en verrassendste ontwerpen zagen we in de pop-up stores van Fraaiheid. Hun tafels vond ik al geweldig, maar hun nieuwste ontwerp Muus staat met stip op mijn wishlist. Iedereen haalt wel eens een schilderij weg en houdt een lelijk gaatje in de muur over. Met Muus kun je er een echt kunstwerk van maken! Je zou er bijna express een gaatje voor boren. Wannahave!!!

Fraaiheid

De Ontwerpvloot is verantwoordelijk voor het ontwerp van de mooie posters en cadeaupapier. In hun geweldige atelier exposeert De Intuïtiefabriek met prachtig keramiek en geweldige kaptafels. Zo zou ik ook wel een kaptafels in mijn slaapkamer willen...

De must visit en highlight van het Designkwartier is zonder twijfel WOTH: Week Only Treasure Hunt. In het prachtige huis van Mary Hessing, een voormalige melkfabriek, is t/m 23 mei a.s. een designwarenhuis gevestigd. Deze prachtige locatie zet ik in een volgen blog in het zonnetje.

De winkel van initiatiefnemer Edwin Pelser mag natuurlijk niet overgeslagen worden. Buiten staat een ventwagen waar de Tallow kandelaar verkocht wordt en binnen is het als altijd een designwalhalla waar geweldige ontwerpen te vinden te zijn.

Tenslotte bezochten we de pop-up store van het KABK (Koninklijke Academie voor Beelden Kunst in Den Haag) een plek waar veel vers design van net afgestudeerde kunstenaars te vinden is.

Wat een inspiratiebubbel dit weekend. Het Designkwartier is echt een top event te noemen. Ik kijk nu al uit naar de editie van volgend jaar!

The hart of the Designkwartier, which was held this weeks at the Zeeheldenkwartier in The Hague, is at the always inspiring in the Piet Heinstraat. Next to all the beautiful stores, you can find lots of pop-up stores with nice design. The good thing is that you can even visit shops and houses which are normally closed. Together with LIVlicious ande Googels & Voozels I enjoyed lots of inspiration and a good lunch. At Holthuijzen belettering you can find a design toy shop with design from Floris Hovers and By Tomm. Lots of designers produce tea towels at the Textielmuseum, so there is a pop-up store filled with lots of them by Mae Engelgeer and Studio Job. It is always good to be at The Fine Store where Vlinder & Vogel and Maartje van den Noord have a special exhibition. One of the most inspiring designs I found at the pop-up store of Fraaiheid. I live their tables but ther new design Muus is high on my wishlist. Wannahave!!! De Ontwerpvloot is the designer of the logo of the Designkwartier and in their beautiful office the designs of De Intuitiefabriek looks stunning. I would like to have a dressing table if it looks like this. The must visit and highlight of the Designkwartier is surely the Week Only Treasure Hunt: the home of Mary Hessing in a beautiful former milk factory is transformed into a design department store which will be open until May 23th. I wil write a special blog about it so you can see all the nice details. If course you shouldn't miss the beautiful designstore of Edwin Pelser (one of the initiators of the Designkwartier) where you can always find lots of nice designs. Our tour ended at the pop-up store from the The Hague Art Academie http://www.kabk.nl/ which lots of fresh design by just graduated designers.

How I love this design event with lost of inspiration. looking forward to the next edition! 

¡Weekend styling!

PlMijn weekend begon met het maken van een verzameling Groen voor de #rainbowflashmob op Instagram. 

Ik gebruikte de mooie groene schaal die ik meenam uit Marokko en die helaas gebroken is. Ik kon geen afscheid nemen van de schaal (die ik toen net een paar weken had) en nu blijkt deze ook in stukken met wat mooie Marokkaanse foto's erbij een eyecather te zijn. De schaal heeft een nieuwe plek in huis en dat leidde meteen tot wat meer styling in huis en in de tuin.

My weekend started with the making of a Green collection for the #rainbowflashmob at Instagram. I used the beautiful green bowl, which I bought in Morocco but which is unfortunately broken. I couldn't trough it away (because I only had it a few weeks) and now it turns out to be an eycatcher with some beautiful Moroccan pictures. The bowl has a new place in home and that inspired me to do some styling at home and in the garden.

Op Instagram werd ik vandaag uitgedaagd mijn verzameling te laten zien.
Eerst dacht ik dat ik er geen had, want egels spaar ik al jaren niet meer en alle sterren, vogeltjes, mariabeeldjes, uiltjes, servies en wit keramiek kun je toch geen verzameling noemen....

Maar als ik even in mijn huis rondkijk (en dan nog niet eens de kasten open) dan blijk ik toch echt wel een enorme verzameling kandelaars en waxinelichtjes houders te hebben...

 

Op dit moment zijn deze glazen, grijze, witte en koperkleurige favoriet.

Today I joined a challenge at Instagram called: My collection. First I thought that I didn't had a collection, because I don't collect hedgehogs anymore and all the stars, birds, holy statues, owls, tableware, and white ceramic aren't a collection... But when I look around in my home (and open some closets) I see a lot of chandeliers and tea light holders.... At this moment these glass, grey, white and copper ones are my favourites.

Buiten is het nat, grijs en donker. Tijd om het in huis gezellig te maken.

 

 

De mooie betonnen vaas en rolletjes koperdraad kocht ik bij YAYA.

Met de Lup kandelaar en Hema vaas met mini rozenbottels een hoekje Autumn Bliss in huis.

Outside it is wet, grey and dark. Time to make it cozy at home. I bought the lovely concrete vase and copper wire at YAYA. Combined with the Lup candlestick Hema vase and little rose-hip a corner of Autumn Bliss at home.

¡Wish-list!

Ze stonden al heel lang op mijn wish-list: de Lup kandelaar van Hay en het “plusje” van Quip & Co. Deze woensdag zat het “plusje” bij de post en vond ik de Lup kandelaar bij Tas-Ka.

Met het “plusje” maakte ik met de mooie ontwerpen van Simpel & Leuk en een oud krukje een nieuw hoekje. Totdat ik een goed plekje voor het "plusje" aan de muur heb, een optimistisch hoekje in de woonkamer.

Nu nog bedenken waar de Lup het beste staat.

Wat staat er op jouw wishlist?

For a long time, they 've been on my wish-list: the Lup chandelier from Hay and this lovely cross from Quip & Co. This wednesday the cross finally arrived by mail and I bought the Lup at Tas-Ka. Jippy! The cross, the lovely designs of Simpel & Leuk I 've put on an old tabouret. Until I will hang it at the wall, an optimistic corner in my living-room. Now I have to decide where the Lup looks best. Here.... or better here? What's on your wish-list?
