I
love to take a look at holiday homes, especially when they have
authentic details. The beautiful holiday home of fashion designer
Jasper Conran on the isle of Rhodos is a real dreamhouse to me!
This
holiday paradise consists of two dwellings that were joined in the
1960s: the biggest one, a 16th-century one serves as the main house
and another from the 18th century accommodates guests. There is a lot
of traditional architecture: with its carved-stone facades, vaulted
doorways, painted ceilings but the best to me are the krokalia,
the traditional pebble mosaic floors. Would be nice to enjoy a
holiday here and discover all the beautiful treasures and long Summer
nights at the beautiful terraces.

vind ik het fijn om binnen te kijken bij vakantiehuizen, vooral als
ze veel authentieke details hebben. Dit prachtige vakantiehuis van
modeontwerper Jasper Conran op Rhodos is echt een droomhuis! Dit
vakantie paradijs bestaat uit twee woningen die in de jaren '60
werden samengevoegd: het grootste, een 16e eeuws huis dient als
woonhuis en het andere huis uit de 18e eeuw is een gastenverblijf. Er
is veel traditionele architectuur terug te vinden: muren versierd met
prachtig uitgesneden motieven, gewelfde deuren, beschilderde
plafonds, maar wat ik het mooiste vind zijn de krokalia, de
traditionele mozaïek vloeren van kiezelstenen. Wat zou het fijn zijn
om vakantie in dit mooie huis te vieren, de mooie details te
ontdekken en te genieten van lange zomeravonden op het terras.
