¡WOWN!

It has been quiet at ¡Muy Bien! blog for a while... Not that I haven’t any inspiration, but sometimes you just have to much inspiration and to less time to share it...

So when Spring is hopefully on its way, it’s time for the new WOWN! interior brand.

WOWN! is the interiorbrand of 3 talented bloggers Souraya from Binti Home, Anki fromZilverblauw and Suzanne from &Suus. Bloggers which I follow for years and who inspire me every day at Instagram. Lonneke from Bubblemint, had the idea to design a new interior brand, made by bloggers: WOWN! Tomorrow (March, 19) it will be in the shops of Kwantum in The Netherlands and Belgium.

The WOWN! collection resembles the favourites of the three bloggers: warm golden yellow and mint, designs with Egyptian influences and beautiful pictures by Souraya from Binti Home, Bohemian pink and pretty pastel vases by Suzanne from &Suus and fresh coloured tableware, beautiful decorated graphic wallpaper and prints in pretty pink by Anki from Zilverblauw.

Though the collections are totally different, they mix great with each other, because of the pastel colours and wood which are used in the WOWN! Collection.

Of course I have my favourites...

Most of them from the collection of Souraya from Binti Home. The beautiful coloured glass chandeliers with their copper details, the wooden table with a nice cushion which can be used as a poof, her beautiful prints and of course the lamp which looks like an traditional oil lamp...Real Musthaves! The vases of the collection by &Suus are great and so are the prints and tableware by Zilverblauw...

Het is een paar weken stil geweest op ¡Muy Bien! blog... Niet dat ik geen inspiratie heb, maar soms heb je juist veel inspiratie en te weinig tijd om het te delen... Maar met de Lente voor de deur wordt het hoog tijd om te gemeten van de nieuwe interieurmerk WOWN!

WOWN! is de collectie van de drie talentvolle interieurbloggers: Sourayavan Binti Home, Anki van Zilverblauw en Suzanne van &Suus. Lonneke van Bubblemint had het idee om een nieuw woonmerk in de markt te zetten, made by bloggers: WOWN! Morgen (19 maart) ligt het in de winkels bij Kwantum in Nederland en België.

De WOWN! collectie bestaat uit interieur favorieten van de drie bloggers: warm goud geel en mint, designs met Egyptische invloeden en prachtige foto’s van Souraya van Binti Home, Bohemian roze en mooie pastel vazen van Suzanne van &Suus en fris gekleurd servies, prachtig behang met grafische prints en posters met roze prints van Anki van Zilverblauw. Alhoewel de collecties totaal verschillende zijn, vormen ze een mooie eenheid door het gebruik van pastel tinten en hout die in de hele WOWN! collectie gebruikt zijn.

Natuurlijk heb ik zo mijn favorieten.... Het meeste uit de collectie van Souraya van Binti Home. De prachtige glazen kandelaars met koperen accenten, het houten tafeltje met kussen zodat het ook als poef gebruikt kan worden, de prachtige wandhangers en natuurlijk de lamp die geïnspireerd is op een traditionele olielamp... Must Haves! Maar ook de vazen van &Suus en het servies van Zilverblauw zijn geweldig. Toen ik vandaag even ging kijken, stonden de mooie kandelaars van Souraya al in de winkel, dus nu kan ik er thuis van genieten. Ik kijk er naar uit om de rest van de collectie snel te zien....

 That Green plants matches with almost everything in every location, shows these beautiful pictures of SIX in Milan! In the city centre you can find this Gallery, Bistro an Design Boutique where green plants bring painted grey brick walls to life. Next to green plants, wood and rattan gives this place its warm and sophisticated atmosphere. A really magical place... And must visit if you are going to the Salone del Mobile in April.

Dat groene planten overal mooi bij staan, op iedere locatie, bewijzen deze prachtige beelden van SIX in Milaan. In het centrum van de stad vind je deze Galerie, Bistro en Design Boutique. Hier brengen groene planten de grijs geverfde stenen muren tot leven. Naast groene planten, brengen hout en rotan warmte en een stijlvolle sfeer. Echt een magische plek... En een must visit, mocht je naar de Salone del Mobile gaan in april! Ga je daar niet naartoe, neem dan hier een kijkje voor meer beelden van dit fantastische Greenterior!

I am always inspired by ateliers. Love the creative spaces, with pieces of art and a raw and industrial look.

But even with new designs, like the Ypperlig serie, a collaboration between HAY and IKEA, you can create an inspiring, minimalistic and creative workspace. I love the shelve, with the light wood. A touch of wood looks great in every interior and gives it a warm cosy atmosphere. The frames, just with some minimalistic black & white paintings, make this atelier style complete. Great to have a workspace like this!

Ik word steeds weer geïnspireerd door ateliers, met mooie schilderijen of andere kunstwerken en een fijne stoere industriële look. Maar zelf met nieuwe ontwerpen, zoals de Ypperlig serie, een samenwerking van HAY en IKEA, kun je zo'n fijne inspirerende, minimalistische en creatieve werkplek creëren. De Stellingkast met het warme hout vind ik echt geweldig. Hout geeft aan iedere plek een warme sfeer, ik ben er dol op. De lijsten met minimalistische tekeningen in zwart wit maken de atelier stijl helemaal af. Wat fijn om een werkplek als dit te hebben!

My favourite combination of green is when it is combined with wood and a touch of gold. That's why I like this picture so much. The beautiful green and gold vases with just two leaves of my favourite plant: the Philodendron Xanadu. With the vintage lamp, the turtle and the modern version of a traditional cupboard, it makes a great Greenterior!

Mijn favoriete combinatie met groen is als dit gecombineerd wordt met hout en een touch of goud. Dat is waarom ik dit zo'n geweldige foto vind. De mooie groene vazen met een goud accent met alleen twee bladeren van mijn favoriete plant: de Philodendron Xanadu. Met de vintage lamp, de schildpad en de moderne versie van een dressoir, is dit een geweldig Greenterior!

How I love the warm colours and story's of vintage finds. Still hoping to find these beautiful Mexican leather chairs in the thrift store. But I always have a lucky day when I find some beautiful vintage pots or baskets. Think it's time to do some thrifting again...

Gebutst, gehavend en aardetinten in een industriële omgeving.... Wat ben ik dol op de warme kleuren van kringloopvondsten. Nog steeds hoop ik dat ik ooit een paar van die mooie Mexicaanse leren stoelen vind. Maar ik ben altijd blij als ik met een paar mooie vintage potten of manden thuiskom. Hoog tijd om weer een rondje kringloop winkel te doen...

¡Comfort Food: Lacrimi și Sfinți in Bucharest!

It's almost a month ago side I returned from my holidays in Bulgaria and Romania. Beside a lot of pictures at my Instagram account, I haven't shared anything about it....

So time to change it. I am working on my pictures to give you an impression about these two special countries, but let's start with some Romanian comfort food in a beautiful styled restaurant: Lacrimiși Sfinți in Bucharest!

Since Bucharest isn't a well known destination, you really have to search for hip & happening places. But Bucharest has a lot of them! Lacrimi și Sfinți (Tears & Saints) is an unusual Romanian restaurant with a modern/contemporary kitchen. Recipes as old as 100 years are reinterpreted and rearranged, lost flavours, invented flavours, all in one place. Next to that the restaurant is beautiful styled by Christian Corvin, in a mix of traditional Romenian wooden furniture, industrial agricultural items and beautiful sculptures at the wall. These sculptures resembles to traditional Romanian patterns and Farm animals, but the nice thing is that they are all made of LEGO!

We had a wonderful dinner at the terrace, with some very nice Romanian wine. So if you ever visit Bucharest, make sure to have your dinner over there!

Het is alweer een maand geleden dat ik terugkwam van mijn vakantie in Bulgarije en Roemenië. Behalve een heleboel foto's op mijn Instagram account, heb ik nog helemaal niets gedeeld... Tijd om daar verandering in te brengen! Ik ben nog bezig mijn foto's te bewerken om jullie een indruk van deze twee bijzondere landen te geven, maar laat ik starten met Roemeens Comfort Food in een geweldig gestyled restaurant: Lacrimi și Sfinți in Boekarest!

Boekarest is geen bekende bestemming, dus je moet echt daar op zoek gaan naar de trendy plekken.. Gelukkig zijn er heel veel leuke plekken te vinden in Boekarest! Lacrimi și Sfinți (Tranen en Heiligen) is een ongewoon Roemeens restaurant met een keuken waar traditionele recepten in een modern jasje worden gestoken. Recepten die meer dan 100 jaar oud zijn, worden opnieuw verrijkt met vergeten en nieuwe smaken. Naast het lekker eten is het restaurant ook nog eens geweldig gestyled door Christian Corvin, in een mix van traditionele Roemeense meubels, industriële landbouw gereedschappen en prachtige sculpturen aan de muur. Deze sculpturen verwijzen naar traditionele Roemeense patronen en boerderij dieren, maar het leukste is dat ze allemaal van LEGO gemaakt zijn! Wij hadden heerlijk diner met lekkere Roemeense wijn op het terras. Dus mocht je ooit in Boekarest zijn, zorg dat je hier een keer gaat dineren!

When the Indian Summer is at its best with warm sunny days, crispy fresh mornings and dark evenings it's time to warm up the house. With the beautiful items of Riad Lifestyle you can give your home a cosy atmosphere, just like living in a Riad!

The Pom Pom blanket is a must have when the evenings are getting colder. But what is really my favourite is the beautiful leather pouf. I love the warm brown colour of the leather, which matches great with the beautiful white Morroccan table and Pom Pom blanket. Of course my favourite Tamegroute pottery can't be forgotten.

I think I will find myself frequently at this place. Just enjoying a good book at dark and cozy Autumn nights.

Wanneer de Indian Summer op zijn best is, met warme zonnige dagen, frisse ochtenden en donkere avonden, is het tijd om het thuis wat warmer te maken. Met de prachtige items van Riad Lifestyle kun je je huis een gezellige sfeer geven, net alsof je in een Riad woont. De Pom Pomdeken is een must have wanneer de avances kouder worden. Maar mijn favoriet is de leren poef. Ik vind de warm bruine kleur van het leer super mooi en deze staat geweldig bij het leuke witte Marokkaansetafeltje en de Pom Pom deken. Natuurlijk hoort daar ook mijn favoriete Tamegroute aardewerk bij. Ik denk dat ik de komende tijd heel vaak in dit hoekje te vinden ben. Lekker met een boek genieten van lange donkere herfstavonden.

Handmade Kitchen Closets

Once in a while, I have it again: the need to move... Every morning starts with opening the laptop and looking for a dream house at Funda...

But since the house market is totally overstrained and there isn't any house that we like and fits into ourg budget, we have to do some DIY. A way to temporarily stop my will to mov. Sometimes our walls gets new colors, or there has to come a bigger closet for our bedroom because I turned the bed another quarter, but at the start of this year it was our kitchen which could use a little make over. I didn't like the glossy white standard kitchen closets at the wall anymore because you couldn't watch the garden properly. I would like to have a more minimalistic look at the wall, which I can use as a display but also good closets to put my kitchen stuff away.

Lucky me, my love and his dad are very handy and my father in law has the right tools. We have always the same way of working: I think wat I want and draw it at scale, together with my love I buy the right materials and next to that, it s (normally) made in the shed of my father in law.

For the new kitchen closets, I thought of small boxes of underlayment, for the image I useds different sizes and two of them got a door. The most difficult part was to make a good compositrion, while one of use was holding it against the wall, the other was looking which was the right place to hang it. Eveyr day I am enjoying our kitchen closet project, which makes me very happy. But still... the will to buy another house and move thereto comes back once in a while. Think it's time for another project...

Geen dag zonder de Inspiratie van Instagram! Terwijl ik van mijn vakantie aan het genieten ben, deelt mijn lieve overbuurvrouw en IG vriendin Birgit (@BirgitKoelewijn), die op mijn huis en planten past, haar verhaal over haar prachtige handgemaakte keukenkastjes!

Handgemaakte Keukenkastjes

Eens in de zoveel tijd heb ik het weer, de verhuis onrust. Dan gaat iedere morgen vroeg de laptop open en open ik Funda opzoek naar mijn droomhuis…

Maar omdat de woningmarkt bij ons in de stad totaal overspannen is en er gewoon geen huis wordt aan geboden wordt wat ons aanspreekt en binnen ons budget valt moet er dan maar iets binnen ons huis geklust worden. Met die klusacties wordt dan die verhuis onrust van mij voor eventjes gestild. De ene keer krijgen de muren een nieuwe kleur, moet er een grote kast in de slaapkamer komen omdat ik ons bed een kwart slag heb gedraaid, maar begin dit jaar was het de keuken die een kleine make over zou krijgen. De standaard hoogglans witte bovenkasten waren al een tijd een doorn in mijn oog, ik vond dat ze het zicht naar de tuin toe belemmerde. Ik wilde graag iets meer luchtigheid aan de wand, iets wat ik kon gebruiken als display maar ook goede kastjes waar ik mijn keukenrommeltjes in kon opbergen.

Waar ik enorm mee bof is dat mijn lief samen met mijn schoonvader enorm handig is en dat schoonpapa over de juiste apparatuur beschikt. Eigenlijk hebben we altijd de zelfde manier van werken, ik bedenk en teken het op schaal, samen met mijn lief koop ik het juiste materiaal en vervolgens wordt het ( meestal ) in de schuur bij schoonpapa gemaakt.

Voor de nieuwe keukenkastjes ben ik uit gegaan van smalle boxen van underlayment, niet allemaal de zelfde grote voor het beeld en 2 met een deurtje. Het op de juiste manier groeperen was weer even een dingetje, iedere keer een kastje omhoog houden door de een terwijl de ander keek hoe het er in zijn geheel uitzag. Tot op de dag van vandaag ben ik blij met deze kleine keuken make over, toch komt de verhuis onrust weer heel af en toe boven drijven… Misschien moet ik maar weer opzoek naar een nieuw klusproject binnen ons huis…

At the end of August, it is time to go back to work or to school again after a Summer Holiday. I wouldn't mind to be back if I had a workspace like this. How I love this beautiful wooden workspace, where a easy DIY of just some rattan and Ivar shelves make a beautiful room-divider and place to show some pictures or prints.

Het is weer eind Augustus geworden. Tijd om weer aan het werk, of terug naar school te gaan na de zomer vakantie. Dat wordt een stuk minder erg als je zo'n mooie werkplek als dit hebt. Wat vind ik deze naturel houten werkplek mooi, waar je met een gemakkelijke DIY van rotan en wat IVAR kaststeunen een geweldige room–divider maakt, die je ook nog eens kunt gebruiken om mooie foto's en prints op te hangen. Eenvoud op z'n best! Hier vind je wat je nodig hebt om deze room-divider te maken.

If you think of Barcelona in Summer time, it must be the heath and all the colours that surround you. 

But in the centre of Barcelona, there is this beautiful bright oasis. Just whites, wood and green accents make a beautiful home. There is not to much furniture, just some vintage pieces. But what is really stunning is the curved white staircase. And if you want to enjoy a lazy Summer night, it's good to sit on the bright white patio spring some ice cold vermouth.

Als je denkt aan zomer in Barcelona, dan is het vast aan de hitte en alle kleuren die je omringen. Maar in het centrum van Barcelona vind je een prachtige frisse oase. Alleen witgeverfde muren, hout en wat groene accenten zijn in dit mooie huis te vinden. Er is niet veel meubilair, slechts een paar vintage stukken. De echte eye-cather in huis is de prachtige witte gedraaide trap, een object in de ruimte. Wil je van een zwoele zomeravond genieten, dan is het goed toeven op de patio, genietend van een glas ijskoude vermouth.
