It has been a while...

For more than 6 months I had an unplanned blog stop. Not, that there was a lack of inspiration, but the intensive year 2017, when I lost my dad and some other dear ones, all the paper work afterwards and taking care of my mum, took all my energy.

But 2019 started with new inspiration and I missed the blogging and everything which comes with it, so I am back again. There are a lot of pictures to be shared from my holidays in Bosnia, Serbia, Montenegro, Croatia and Spain, nice spots, new brands and interior inspiration so I hope you will enjoy following ¡Muy Bien! Blog again!

Het is alweer een hele tijd geleden....

Meer dan 6 maanden, nam ik een ongeplande blog stop. Niet omdat ik te weinig inspiratie had, maar 2017 was een pittig jaar, waarin ik mijn vader en een aantal andere dierbaren verloor, er heel veel papierwerk gedaan moest worden en het zorgen voor mijn moeder alle energie kostten.

Maar 2019 is gestart met nieuwe inspiratie en ik begin het bloggen en ik begon alle leuke dingen die er aan vast hangen te missen, dus hier ben Ik weer! Er liggen nog heel veel foto’s te wachten van mijn vakantie in Bosnië, Servië, Montenegro, Kroatië en Spanje, nieuwe plekken, leuke merken en interieur inspiratie, dus ik hoop dat je ¡Muy Bien! Blog weer met veel plezier gaat volgen!

Als je me naar mijn favoriete film vraagt, dan is dat natuurlijk Out of Africa. Ik weet niet hoe vaak ik die film al gezien heb, maar ik van date mooie liefdesverhaal, de kleding, het interieur en de locaties nog steeds geweldig mooi. Toen ik deze reportage gestyled door Cleo Scheulderman in de Nederlandse Vogue Living van deze zomer zag, werd ik dan ook heel blij. Door deze prachtige foto’s krijg ik zin om op safari te gaan....

How I love it that we add more and more colour to our homes!

Last April I finally painted the wall of my guest room In a Terra Pink colour (Soft Clay by VT Wonen). Mixed with the beautiful Tropical prints of May & Fay, it feels like a Holliday in my own home. A perfect place to dream away while having a siësta on a Summer afternoon.

Because I like this colourful rooms so much, from now I will post them frequently at ¡Muy Bien!

Wat ben ik blij dat er steeds meer kleur te zien is in onze huizen! Eind april schilderde ik eindelijk de muur van mijn logeerkamer in een Terra - Roze kleur (Soft Clay van VT Wonen). Gecombineerd met de mooie tropische prints van May & Fay, voelt het als vakantie in mijn eigen huis. Een perfecte plek om even weg te dromen tijdens een siësta op een zomerse middag. Omdat ik dit soort kleurrijke huizen zo fijn vind, zal ik vanaf nu regelmatig wat kleur inspiratie delen op ¡Muy Bien!. One of the most inspiring things is looking inside houses. Luckily we have lots of interior & lifestyle magazines, inspiring blogs and feeds at Instagram where you can get a lot of interior inspiration. So how great is it when you are asked for a fotoshoot inside your own home to inspire others!

Dear Sanne of Style by Sanne, who lives just two streets from my home, came by to make these beautiful pictures! How nice to see your home through the eyes of someone else. Things which are usual to me, became more special, because she saw them at a different sight. Like the embroidered chair of my grandmother. When I got it from my mum I wasn’t that happy with this chair, because I thought my home would look to classic. But now it’s a real eycatcher.

Think one of the most important things to create a warm Home is the use of plants and bringing in souvenirs form foreign travels. Sometimes I feel like a nomad when I carry all the stuff with me, but how happy I am when I can place them in my home. For me the best places to buy special souvenirs are local markets, super markets and even a hardwarestore, but I also brought back a garden design lamp from Copenhagen.

Een van de meest inspirerende dingen is binnenkijken bij een ander thuis. Gelukkig kunnen we ons hart ophalen aan als interieur & lifestyle magazines, inspirerende blogs en Instagram waar heel veel interieur vinden is. Maar hoe leuk is het dan als je gevraagd wordt een fotoshoot van je eigen huis te doen, om zo anderen te inspireren!

Lieve Sanne van Style by Sanne, die maar twee straten van mij af blijkt te wonen, kwam langs om deze prachtige foto’s te maken! Wat super leuk om je huis door de ogen van iemand anders te zien. Dingen die voor mij heel gewoon zijn, werden ineens bijzonder, omdat Sanne ze op een hele andere manier zag. Bijvoorbeeld de geborduurde stoel van mijn oma. Toen ik deze van mijn moeder kreeg, wist ik niet of ik hier blij mee moest zijn, omdat ik het idee kreeg dat het veel te klassiek is. Maar het blijkt dus een echte eycatcher te zijn! Een van de belangrijkste dingen om je huis een echt thuis te laten zijn zijn planten en souvenirs die ik van mijn reizen meenam. Soms voel ik me echt een nomade als ik weer loop te slepen met allerlei spullen, maar iedere keer ben ik weer super blij als ik ze een plekje in mijn huis kan geven. De beste plekken voor mij om souvenirs te kopen, zijn markten, supermarkten en zelfs ijzerwinkels. Maar ooit nam ik ook een design lamp uit Kopenhagen mee. When we are still waiting for some Spring and lots of Sunshine, it's time to celebrate Easter. Have a happy one with all your beloveds!

Terwijl we nog steeds aan het wachten zijn op de lente en veel zon, is het tijd om Pasen te vieren. Geniet van fijne dagen met iedereen die je dierbaar is!

¡Let’s stay in Atelier Turquoise in Gent!

If there is one, not to far away, city is on my must visit list, it must be the Belgian Gent. Quite near, but I have never been there....

But when I saw this beautiful Apollo suite in the Atelier Turquoise, I think I have to plan a stay over soon. How I love the dark coloured styling of this beautiful appartement! The eye for colour is not only seen in this guesthouse, but also in the ceramics which are made by Atelier Turquoise. I love this room and beautiful green bathroom which reminds me of far away travels to colourful countries.

Next to that Gent has lots of inspiring shops, restaurants and museums, so I think I won’t have enough by just going there for one weekend...

Als er een, niet te ver weg, stad op mijn must visit lijstje staat dan is het wel het Belgische Gent. Eigenlijk vlakbij, maar ik ben er nog nooit geweest. Maar sinds ik deze prachtige Apollo suite in het Atelier Turquoise ontdekte, ben ik van plan om daar snel verandering in te brengen. Wat vind ik de donker kleuren en styling van dit appartement geweldig! Het oog voor kleur vind je niet alleen terug in het appartement, maar ook in het mooie keramiek dat door AtelierTurquoise wordt gemaakt. Deze kamer en badkamer doen me denken aan verre reizen naar kleurrijke landen. Bovendien wemelt het in Gent van de inspirerende winkels, leuke restaurantjes en musea, dus ik denk dat ik meer dan een lang weekend ga plannen...

¡Feels like spring is in the air!

Een van de beste dingen van reizen, is het ontdekken van mooie schatten die je mee naar huis kunt nemen als souvenir. De laatste jaren zien we steeds meer etnische schatten hun entree maken in onze huizen. Als je zelf geen reiziger bent, dan heb je geluk want het Nederlandse interieur merk HK Living brengt ons een geweldige ingerekend collectie met voorwerpen doe je doen denken aan lange verre reizen. Wat vind ik deze prachtige global styling van de talentvolle VT Wonen stylist Marianen Luning mooi. De fragiel beschilderde roze Japanse lampionnen zijn mijn favoriet. Hangt er dan toch lente in de lucht?

Slowly I can look forward to my next trip to Bulgaria and Romania, this September...

Two intriguing counties where a lot of Gypsy history can be found. For me a new destination, though I travelled al lot, I haven't been to that part of Europa yet.

Looking for inspiration, I was lucky to find the beautiful Gypsy book by the always inspiring Sibella Court. I cherish her books, with lots of styling inspiration from her travels.

Gypsy shows a glimpse of Transylvania, a part of Romania. If I see the beautiful decorated and colourful textiles and the handmade ceramics and wooden bowls and spoons, I am sure I will take a big bag with me. Hopefully to be filled with lots of beautiful souvenirs....

Langzaam begin ik uit te kijken naar mijn vakantie naar Bulgarije en Roemenië in september... Twee intrigerende landen waar veel zigeuner geschiedenis te vinden is. Voor mij een nieuwe bestemming, want op al mijn reizen heb ik nog nooit dat deel van Europa bezocht. Op zoek naar inspiratie, werd ik heel blij toen ik het mooie boek Gypsy van de altijd inspirerende Sibella Court vond. Ik koester haar boeken, vol met styling inspiratie van haar reizen. Gypsy laat een klein stukje Transylvanië, een streek in Roemenië, zien. Als ik het mooie gekleurde en gedecoreerde textiel zie en het handgemaakt keramiek en houten kommen en lepels, weet ik zeker dat ik een groet tas mee ga nemen. Hopelijk vind ik ook van deze mooie vondsten en kan ik mijn tas gevuld met souvenirs mee naar huis nemen...

Turtles the symbol of a long life. 

As a kid we used to have a cloth turtle, Stoffel, in our car for a save journey.

Their shield is used for decoration for ages. My favourite interior brand HKliving made some shields of plastic as a decoration for your home. I like the tiny brown and yellow shield very much, but still have some doubts to buy it.... ¿Would you like to have one at your home?

Schildpadden staan symbool voor een lang leven. Toen we klein waren hadden we een stoffen schildpad, Stoffel, in onze auto voor een veilige reis. Al jaren wordt hun schild gebruikt voor decoratie.mijn favoriete interieurmerk HKliving heeft dit jaar een aantal plastic schilden in de collectie als decoratie voor je huis. Ik vind het kleine bruin gele schild erg leuk, maar twijfel nog steeds... ¿Zou jij er een kopen?

It might not be the first place you think of to put a plant, but how great the effect is when you put some plants in the bathroom! 

A lovely green palm, gives your bathroom a tropical bohemian feeling. Like being on a holiday, when you take a bath. And through the foggy atmosphere of the shower and bath, your plants will feel great as well.

Het is misschien niet de meest voor de hand liggende plek om planten neer te zetten, maar wat een geweldig effect krijg je als je een plant op je badkamer zet! Een mooie groene palm, geeft je badkamer een tropische Bohemian sfeer. Net alsof je op vakantie bent als je een bad neemt. En door de vochtige lucht van de douche en het bad, voelt je plant zich ook geweldig.

How I love it, to start a warm tropical summer day with a breakfast in my garden.

This Bohemian breakfast table setting makes you feel of a breakfast at a lovely Moroccan Riad, filled with beautiful authentic details and beautiful colored tropical flowers. The decoration and colourful table setting with a mix of all kind of colourfull tableware gives you a real Summer feeling. Hopefully we will enjoy a Summer filled with lots of garden breakfasts!

Wat een feestje als ik een zonnige zomerdag kan beginnen met een ontbijtje in de tuin! Als ik naar de foto's van deze ontbijttafel in Bohemian stijl kijk, moet ik meteen denken aan een ontbijt in een prachtige Marokkaanse Riad, vol met authentieke details en prachtige gekleurde tropische bloemen. De styling en kleurige tafel setting met een mix van prachtige gekleurd servies geeft een echt zomer gevoel. Hopelijk kunnen we deze zomer heel veel gaan genieten van ontbijt in de tuin!
