¡Breakfast at: Magendie Restaurante Buenos Aires!

Het is al weer ruim twee jaar geleden dat ik in mijn favoriete stad Buenos Aires was. Ik ben plannen aan het maken om er in januari 2016 weer heen te gaan en wat dan hoog op mijn lijstje staat, is ontbijt of lunch bij het biologische restaurant Magendie.

Je moet even een eindje door Palermo lopen om bij het mooie koloniale huis te komen, maar dan kun je heerlijk voor het restaurant (op de hoek van de straat) of in het gezellige restaurant in bistro stijl van je ontbijt en super lekkere koffie genieten.

Er is heerlijk ambachtelijk brood naast de Media Luna's (croissants) die de Argentijnen als ontbijt eten. Alles is home made en er heerst een gezellige sfeer. De taartjes zijn een aanrader, niet alleen heerlijk, maar ze zien er ook geweldig uit. Ik kijk nu al uit naar een plekje in de zon om te genieten van alle heerlijkheden!

It has been two years now, since I went to my favourite city Buenos Aires. I am making plans to go back in January 2016, and when I am there I will surely visit Biological Restaurante Magendie to have a delicious breakfast or lunch. You have to walk a little in Palermo to visit this lovely colonial house, but then you can sit in front of the restaurant ( at the corner of the street) or in the cozy bistro style restaurant to enjoy your breakfast and some good coffee. They have very good bread next to the Media Luna's (croissants) which are known as the usual Argentine breakfast. Everything is Home made and there is a good atmosphere. The cakes are a must eat, not only because of their taste, but also for their looks. I am looking forward to have a place in the sun to enjoy all this deliciousness!

Margreet van Oui.Oui studio vroeg me een paar weken geleden via Instagram om iets meer over mezelf te vertellen. Als je mee doet, stel je de vraag weer aan iemand anders en zo door. ¡Nomad... Bringing your travels home!

Dol op reizen en interieurstyling als ik ben, stond het boek Nomad van Sibella Court hoog op mijn verlanglijstje. Wat was ik blij toen ik het boek voor mijn verjaardag kreeg! Wat een prachtige foto's vol inspiratie! Op Pinterest kun je heel wat foto's uit Nomad en haar andere boeken terug vinden.

Nomad is ook qua trends een belangrijk thema voor 2013.

 

 

 

Inmiddels heb ik zelf ook al heel wat mee gesjouwd van al mijn reizen.
Meestal start ik bij een lokale markt of supermarkt (of ijzerwinkel in Spanje), omdat je daar vaak unieke souvenirs vindt.

Niet alleen kruiden, glazen, Spaanse schalen en bakjes hebben een weg naar mijn huis gevonden, er is al heel wat meegesjouwd in de rugzak. Zoals het boompje met keramieken vogeltjes dat ik op dag 2 van mijn vakantie in Guatemala vond en ik 4 weken mee moest sjouwen...Van Marokkaans dienblad tot cricket-set voor vrienden; van tangoschoenen tot Deense design lamp voor de in de tuin, veel heeft inmiddels een plekje in huis gekregen. Zo fijn om weer terug te denken aan alle bijzondere plekken waar ik geweest ben en de inspirerende mensen die ik daar ontmoette!

Ik kijk nu al uit naar de volgende reis!

Because I love to travel and I am fond of interiorstyling, the book Nomad by Sibella Court was high on my wish list! So I was very happy to receive it as a birthday present. What a nice pictures, full of inspiration! At Pinterest you can find lots of pictures from Nomad and her other books. As a trend, Nomad is an important theme for 2013. I have traveled a lot, and brought a lot of souvenirs from my trips. Normally I start at the market or supermarket (or hardware store in Spain), because there you can find original souvenirs.

Not only herbs, glasses and Spanish pottery had found itheir way to my home, I carried a lot of things in my backpack. Like the lovely tree with ceramic birds, which I bought the second day of my holidays in Guatemala and which I had to carry for four weeks... A Marrocan teatray, a cricket set for friends, handmade tango shoes and a Danish design garden lamp: all found their way to my home. It is so nice to remember the nice places I have been to and the lovely people I met, by looking at all this things! Here are a few of my favourite items.
I am looking forward to my next trip!

¡Aan de muur!

Verleden jaar kreeg ik bij mijn keramiekcursus de opdracht iets te maken met het thema: ¡Aan de muur!
Van zo'n opdracht ga je gelijk anders kijken. Want we hangen niet alleen mooie prints en inspirerende quotes aan de muur, wat hangen er ook veel mooie huisnummers, electriciteitsbordjes, enz...

Ik ben heel blij met mijn VTwonen rek in de woonkamer, daardoor kan ik steeds van iets anders ¡Aan de muur! genieten.

Last year I followed a ceramic course. We had to make something based on the theme: ¡Hanging on the wall! Because of this assignment, you look at walls in a different way. Next to the nice prints and quotes we put on our walls, there are also a lot of nice things hanging at the walls on the streets.
I enjoy my VTwonen shelving in my living room, because of this shelving I can change the objects ¡Hanging on the wall!

¡Breakfast at....!

Niets is leuker dan met lieve, leuke mensen om je heen van het leven te genieten!

Sinds een paar jaar hebben we met een groepje vrienden de gewoonte in het weekend met elkaar te ontbijten. Even elkaar zien, bijkletsen en van een lekker ontbijtje genieten volgens het zwaan - kleef- aan idee: wie zin heeft, schuif aan.

Op mijn blog wil ik jullie laten zien op welke leuke ontbijtplekjes we daarvan genieten.

In maart 2012 had ik een sabbatical van twee maanden.

Ik besloot op reis te gaan en tango te gaan dansen in Buenos Aires; iets waar ik al jaren van droomde. Via - via kreeg ik de tip om een paar nachten in Petit Hotel El Vitreaux te gaan logeren. Wat een kadootje!!

Niet alleen het fantastisch mooie koloniale huis met patio en dakterras dat Elena (Argentijnse) en Mike (Nederlander) met heel veel liefde hebben opgeknapt en ingericht, hun enorme gastvrijheid en ook het ontbijt was een feestje.

Argentijnen ontbijten meestal met een medialuna (croissant) en koffie.

Elena en Mike zetten je een uitgebreid ontbijt voor met broodjes, taartjes, yoghurt, muesli en Dulce de Leche (caramel). Elena is daarbij een inspirerende gids en vertelt je tijdens het ontbijt alle places to be in Buenos Aires.

I like it very much to enjoy life with lovely and inspiring people around.

Since a few years my friends and I started to have breakfast together in the weekends. A good way of seeing each other and enjoying nice places and a good breakfast. On this blog, I will show you the places where we meet.

A year ago, I had a two month sabbatical. I decide to make the journey of my dreams and went to Buenos Aires to dance tango. Someone tipped me to stay over in Petit Hotel El Vitreaux, which was really a surprise! Not only the lovely decorated colonial house with patio and rooftop-garden, which is hosted by Elena & Mike, but also the nice breakfast. Argentine people normally have breakfast with coffee and medialunas (croissants). Elena and Mike offer you a breakfast with bread, small cakes, cereals and Dulce de Leche (caramel). Elena accompanies the breakfast with information about all the places to be in Buenos Aires.

A must visit if you are planning to go to Buenos Aires!
