¡Shops to inspire: Design Mind in Den Haag!

Last time I visited the Noordeinde to do some shopping, I was surprised by a lot of fantastic new concept stores. The one which inspired me most is the beautiful Design Mind concept store. At Design Mind you can find a beautiful collection of Nordic design from Latvian designers, living in the Netherlands. All products are made of pure, ecological materials, which are a great combination with the minimalistic design. Next to that i's great to see how the minimalistic Nordic design matches with the authentic details of the shop. So if you go for a shopping tour in The Hague, be sure to visit Design Mind!

Toen ik laatst over het Noordeinde fietsen was ik verrast door een flink aantal nieuwe, inspirerende conceptstores die daar hun deuren geopend hebben. De winkel die me het meest verraste is de mooie Design Mind conceptstore. Bij Design Mind vind je een geweldig mooie collectie Nordic design van Letse ontwerpers die in Nederland wonen. Alle producten zijn gemaakt van pure ecologische materialen, die een geweldige combinatie vormen met het minimalistische design. Deze mooie ontwerpen komen in het pand met alle authentieke details geweldig tot hun recht, dus als je een dagje gaat shoppen in Den Haag, zorg ervoor dat je even bij Design Mind gaat kijken. 

¡Shops to inspire: Stijl Bandiet Den Haag!

When I moved to the Valkenboskwartier area in The Hague ten years ago, a lot of people asked me why I moved there to since it wasn't a popular area at that time. But since one and a half year now, the Fahrenheitstraat is getting more and more inspiring with lots of trendy shops and restaurants (like Lot). So happy that, since a week, we have a real conceptstore: Stijl Bandiet! A bright industrial shop, filled with beautiful clothes and must have (vintage) furniture and home decoration.

Beautiful vintage closets mixed up with raw jeans and kelim look carpets. I love the wooden accessoiries and really would love to have one of their industrial trolleys. They also sell some toys.

I couldn't stop taking pictures, and of course I had to buy some new clothes...

A must visit if you do some shopping in The Hague!

The good news: there are two more shops of Stijl Bandiet in The Hague: in Scheveningen and in the city center. Each shop has its own style. And there is also Stijl Bandiet Kitchen restuarant in Scheveningen. The shop are open at Sunday's as well.

Toen ik 10 jaar geleden verhuisde naar het Valkenboskwartier in Den Haag, vroegen veel mensen waarom ik naar deze wijk verhuisde omdat het niet tot de hippe en trendy wijken van Den Haag hoorde. Maar sinds ruim 1,5 jaar wordt de Fahrenheitstraat steeds inspirerender met leuke trendy winkels en restaurants (zoals Lot). Zo fijn dat we sinds een week ook een echte conceptstore hebben: Stijl Bandiet! Een mooie lichte, industriële winkel, gevuld met mooie kleding en must have (vintage) meubels en interieur accessoires. De mooie vintage kasten zijn gemixt met stoere jeans en kelim look tapijten. Ik ben dol op de mooie houten accessoires en zou zo graag zo'n mooie industriële trolley meenemen. Er wordt ook speelgoed verkocht. Ik kon niet stoppen met het maken van foto's en natuurlijk moesten er nieuwe kleren mee... Een echte must visit als je een dagje gaat winkelen in Den Haag.

Het goede nieuws is dat er nog twee filialen van Stijl Bandiet in Den Haag zijn: in Scheveningen en in de stad. Elke winkel heeft een eigen sfeer qua inrichting. En er is ook een Stijl Bandiet Kitchen restaurantin Scheveningen en iedere zondag open!

¡Breakfast at: Sissy-Boy Daily Den Haag!

Wat was ik blij dat eind april Sissy-Boy na 20 jaar haar deuren (her-) opende in Den Haag! Een prachtige conceptstore vol mooie leuke wannahaves. Maar wat nog veel fijner is, is dat er ook een Sissy-Boy Daily geopend is.

Een prachtige ingerichte plek waar je heerlijk kunt ontbijten en lunchen. Blikvanger in de winkel zijn de prachtige sterren lampen (waar ik verliefd op ben), maar ook de schoolstoelen vind ik geweldig.

Of je nu van een croissantje of bananenbread wil genieten, alles wordt met liefde gemaakt. Iedere dag is er een andere broodje van de dag met steeds weer een verassende combinatie zoals bijvoorbeeld chorizo met dadels en honing. Daarnaast is er ook een soep en quiche van de dag maar ook de steeds wisselende menukaart staat vol heerlijkheden. De smoothies zijn een aanrader en de koffie wordt met liefde voor je gemaakt. En op zomerse dagen staan er buiten heerlijke strandstoelen waar je in de Haagsche Bluf van het zonnetje kunt genieten. Ik heb er een nieuwe favoriet bij!

En mocht je niet in de buurt van Den Haag zijn, er is ook een Sissy-Boy Daily in Haarlem, Amsterdam (2x), Tilburg, Eindhoven en Heemstede.

How happy I was when Sissy-Boy The Hague (re-) opened its doors after 20 years! A wonderful concept store full of beautiful wannahaves. But what is even better, is that there is also a Sissy Boy Daily. A beautiful decorated place where you can have breakfast and lunch. Eye-catcher in the shop are the beautiful star lights (which I love), but also schoolchairs the school are very nice.

Whether you like to have breakfast with a croissant or banana bread, everything is made with love. Every day there is another sandwich of the day, with always a surprising combination such as chorizo ​​with dates and honey. There is also a soup and quiche of the day, but also the ever-changing menu is full of delights. The smoothies are a must and the coffee is made for you with love. And on summer days there are wonderful beach chairs outside where you can enjoy your breakfast or coffee the sun. I have a new favourite!

And if you are not near The Hague, there is also a Sissy-Boy Daily in Haarlem, Amsterdam (2x), Tilburg, Eindhoven and Heemstede.

¡Shops to inspire: KEET Rotterdam!

Dat Rotterdam bruist van creativiteit en geweldige initiatieven ontdek ik iedere dag als ik er aan het werk ben. De laatste tijd komt het er nauwelijks van een dagje te shoppen, dus wat was ik blij met de uitnodiging van Robine van ACTproductions blog voor een bezoek aan de Swanmarket (daarover later deze maand meer) en KEET Rotterdam tijdens de Social Influencers Tour afgelopen zondag.

KEET is de prachtige conceptstore van Claire. Een paar jaar geleden was ze in Kaapstad in een winkel vol mooie spullen, waar je ook nog heerlijk thee kon drinken. Dat inspireerde haar om KEET te starten: een plek waar webshops en startende ontwerpers hun mooie producten kunnen laten zien en verkopen in de mooie lichte winkel. De ontwerpers en webshops kunnen wisselen, waardoor het aanbod steeds vernieuwt. Er is een café waar je lekker koffie kunt drinken of lunchen, maar ook voor exposities en workshops kun je bij KEET terecht. Daarnaast is er KEETering en de (K)EETclub: aanschuiven aan lange tafels om samen met Rotterdammers van een heerlijk diner te genieten.

Samen met Milou, Mariandel, Lotte, Marij en Robine werden we verrast met een heerlijke lunch.

Daarna mochten we twee tafels gebruiken en alle producten uit de winkel om een eigen styling te maken. Altijd fijn voor bloggers!

Ik was meteen verliefd op de mooie schelpen ketting van DAY Lifestyle en combineerde deze met een Turks koperen koffiepotje van Potpori (lucky me, het koperen koffiepotje bleek in mijn goodie-bag te zitten!). Ook de twee prachtige oranje vazen van KEET kon ik niet laten staan (ik heb ze maar meteen gekocht). Gecombineerd met de ananassen van Á la en wat sieraden van Riverstones werd het dit zomerse plaatje.

Maar er zijn nog heel veel meer mooie producten zoals sieraden, interieur accessoires, foods etc. bij KEET te vinden.

Met een overweldigend gevulde goodie-bag en voor iedereen een persoonlijk kado van Robine uit haar webshop Stockhome gingen we weer naar huis na een dag vol inspiratie. Wat ben ik blij dat ik vlak bij KEET Rotterdam werk, want ik ga er zeker snel weer terug en ook op ¡Muy Bien! zul je een aantal webshops en ontwerpers terug gaan zien. Dus als je in Rotterdam bent: een ¡Must Visit!

Rotterdam is one of the cities with lost of creativity and great initiatives I discover every day when I go to work there. Lately I didn't had much time for some shopping, so I was so happy with the invitation Robine from ACTproductions blog to visit the Swanmarket (more about the Swanmarket later this month) and KEET Rotterdam during the Social Influencers Tour last Sunday.

KEET is the wonderful concept store owned by Claire. A few years ago she was in Cape Town in a store full of beautiful things, where you also could enjoy your tea. That inspired her to start KEET: a place where online shops and designers show and sell their products in the beautiful light shop. Designers and webshops can change, so there is always something new to discover. There is also a café where you can drink good coffee or enjoy your lunch, but also for exhibitions and workshops you can contact KEET. Next to that they have KEETering and the (K)EETclub: sit down at long tables to enjoy a delicious dinner and meet Rotterdammers.

Along with Milou, Mariandel, Lotte, Marij and Robine we were surprised with a delicious lunch.

Then we could use two tables and all products from the store to create our own styling. Always nice for bloggers! I fell in love with the beautiful shell necklace from DAY Lifestyle and combined them with a Turkish copper coffee pot from Potpori (lucky me, it turned out to be in my goodie-bag!). The two beautiful orange vases by KEET I could not resist (so I bought them). Combined with pineapples from Á la and some jewellery from Riverstones it created this summer styling.But there are many more beautiful products such as jewelry, interior accessories, foodies and many more at KEET.

With an overwhelmingly filled Goodie-bag and a personal gift for everyone from Robine from her shop Stockhome we went home after a day full of inspiration. How glad I am to work near KEET Rotterdam, because I will certainly return soon and also at ¡Muy Bien! you will see some of the online shops and designers. A ¡Must Visit! when you are in Rotterdam!
