¡Shops to inspire: Opening of the colourful Home Stock Zwolle!

In the early nineties I live a while in Zwolle, a beautiful old fortified Hanseatic city in the east of the Netherlands. I haven’t been there for years, until I got an invitation to attend a special bloggers event at the new Home Stock in Zwolle, which opened its doors last week.

How I love this beautiful and coloured store. If you enter the store, a real taxidermic Lion welcomes you. Everywhere you look, you see bright colours, great wallpapers by Cole & Son, lovely golden accents, colourfull birds and so much more. I really fell in love with the green corner beneath the stairs, whith some beautiful fringed parasol lamps.

When I entered the stairs to look at the second floor, I was very surprised because this place used to be my former hairdresser.... Their are still some hair model prints at the window of the early ‘90s!

We had a very warm welcome by Sita, the owner of the Home Stock stores and Sanne of &Stijl, who invented us. She told us how she and her partner developed this store with it’s unique style. After we strolled around the shop, we had a very good lunch. When you are with bloggers, lots of pictures are made and inspiration is shared. Next to that we had a workshop to design our own lampshade. The designs will be produced, so this year I will add a very special lamp to my home!

Of course we made a tour through Zwolle, which has a lot of inspiring stores and nice restaurants. It´s a long travel from my home to Zwolle, so I am very happy that there is a Home Stock store in Rotterdam (where I work), Haarlem and soon in Utrecht as well.

In het begin van de jaren 90 woonde ik een korte tijd in Zwolle, een prachtige oude vesting- en Hanzestad. Ik ben er zeker geen 20 jaar geweest, totdat ik de uitnodiging kreeg om bij het speciale bloggers event van de nieuwste Home Stock vestiging te zijn, die vorige week de deuren opende. Ik ben dol op deze prachtige en kleurrijke winkel. Bij binnenkomst word je verwelkomd door een enorme opgezette leeuw (niet geschoten, maar een natuurlijke dood gestorven) overal waar je kijkt zie je felle kleuren, behang met fantastische prints van Cole & Son, mooie gouden accenten, kleurrijke vogels en zoveel meer. Mijn favoriete hoekje in de winkel is het groene hoekje onder de trap war geweldige parasol lampen van kleurrijke franjes hangen. Toen ik de trap op ging om de tweede etage te bekijken, was ik verrast want dit bleek mijn vroeger knappe te zijn! Op de ramen zie je nog prints met modellen uit de vroege ‘90s!

We werden heel hartelijk welkom geheten door Sita, de eigenaar van Home Stock en Sanne van &Stijl, die het event organiseerde. Sita vertelde ons hoe zij en haar partner de Home Stock winkels zijn begonnen. Nadat we uitgebreid de winkel bekeken hadden, genoten we van een heerlijke lunch. Als je een bloggerslunch hebt, worden er natuurlijk veel foto’s gemaakt en inspiratie gedeeld. Als afsluiter hadden we een workshop waarin we onze eigen lampenkap mochten ontwerpen en verrassing: deze wordt ook echt gemaakt, dus binnenkort heb ik een unieke lamp in huis! Natuurlijk heb ik nog een rondje Zwolle gedaan, dat tegenwoordig heel veel leuke winkels en fijne restaurantjes heeft. De treinreis naar Zwolle is lang, dus ik ben heel blij dat er ook een Home Stock bij mij inde buurt is: in Rotterdam (waar ik werk), Haarlem en binnenkort wordt er ook een vestiging van deze super fijne winkel in Utrecht geopend.

How happy I am when a new interior shop opens it’s doors!

In a loft filled with beautiful design like MENU and Studio Henk, Fort M in The Hague is a real must vist!

Beautiful styled, with lots of green plants and warm coloured walls, the shop is a great place of inspiration. What I like most is the wall with all kind of materials which can be chosen while buying a new couch or table.. Not a tiny piece of cloth to choose for your couch, but almost a square meter, so you really can see and imagine how your new chair or couch will look. The owners are very kind and tell you all the stories about their shop and furniture. While you are wondering and wandering around and get inspired by the stylish corners of the shop, they make you a cup of coffee,

So if you want to go shopping in The Hague, make sure to visit Fort M!

Ik ben altijd weer blij als er een nieuwe interieur winkel zijn deuren opent! In een loft, gevuld met geweldig design van MENU en StudioHenk, is Fort M echt een aanwinst voor Den Haag. Gewedlig gestyled, vol met groene planten en warm gekleurde muren is deze winkel en acht een bron van inspiratie. Wat ik het leukste vind is dat er een hele muur is met allerlei soorten materialen die je kunt gebruiken om de kleur en materiaal van je ideale bank of tafel te kiezen. Niet een klein stukje stof uit een stalenboek waar je de bekleding voor je nieuwe stoel of bank kunt kiezen, maar bijna een vierkante meter, zodat je echt kunt zien hoe je nieuwe meubel eruit gaat zien. De eigenaren zijn super aardig en nemen alle tijd en moeite om je het verhaal over hun winkel en de ontwerpen te vertellen. Terwijl je door de winkel loopt om van al het moois te genieten, word je ook nog eens verwend met heerlijke koffie. Dus ben je in Den Haag om een dagje te shoppen, sla dan zeker Fort M niet over.

 

En lukt het niet om een dagje naar den haag te komen, in juli is de webshop online!

¡Serenity with IKEA’s newest collection Hjärtelig!

If you follow ¡Muy Bien! blog and my Instagram account, you know that I love materials in natural colours and loads of green. The give a serene feeling, when they are mixed with some whites.

So how happy I am with the new Hjärtelig collection which will be soon in stores at IKEA! Love the beautiful natural elements of this collection. IKEA was inspired by a calm natural way of living, back to the base. 
The rattan heardboards inspire me to make a change at my bedroom and how great it would be to do some yoga at the rattan mat. So another reason to visit IKEA soon.

Als je ¡Muy Bien! blog en mijn Instagram account volgt, dan weet je dat ik erg houd van materialen in natuurlijke kleuren en heel veel groen in huis. Gemixt met wit tinten heeft het een mooie serene en rustige uitstraling. Dus ik word heel erg blij van de IKEA’s nieuwe Hjärtelig collectie die binnenkort in de winkels ligt. IKEA werd geïnspireerd een rustige, onthaastte manier van leven , terug naar de basis; door Ik ben echt weg van de mooie natuurlijke elementen en kleuren in deze collectie. De rotan hoofdeinden voor het bed inspireren me om mijn slaapkamer gaan veranderen aan wat lijkt het me fijn om yoga oefeningen op de rotan mat te doen. Alweer een reden om snel even naar IKEA te gaan...

¡Urban Nature Culture Cushion Crush!

If there is one interior design brand, I fell in love with at first sight, it must be the Dutch brand: Urban Nature Culture! So how happy I am that they like ¡Muy Bien! Blog and they like working together. I already posted blogs with their ceramics and bamboo plates, but from now their beautiful designs will have a special place at my blog!

At their Instagram feed I saw their beautiful new cushions, in Heartwood pink from warm and fluffy materials. Just what my home needed! When they arrived it turned out that they match great with my curtains and vintage sari pouf, so a new colour scheme, with green and Heartwood pink came into my home!

What I like best about Urban Nature Culture, is that they use authentic materials and beautiful prints. You never have enough cushions, so you should take a look at the beautiful Urban Nature Culture collection. The Tibetan Sheep Fur cushion, is a real must have this winter. Smooth pink and warm fluffy threats, you have to touch this when you see it. My favourite is the Fern Leaf cushion with a beautiful hand painted print of a fern on it. (This one will stay! ) And of course there is an Old Pink Velvet one in the collection. Also warm coloured and the finishing touch of this set.

I bought some eucalyptus, wax flowers and Protea to make this styling complete. When you not in to Heartwood pink, there are a lot of other beautiful designs to discover here!

Als er 1 interieur merk is waarin meteen bij lancering verliefd op werd dan moet het wel Urban Nature Culture zijn! Dus wat ben ik blij dat zij ¡Muy Bien! Blog inspirerend vinden en dat ze het leuk vinden om samen te werken. Ik heb al eens eerder blogs gemaakt over hun mooie keramiek en bamboe borden, maar vanaf nu zullen hun ontwerpen regelmatig terugkomen op mijn blog!

Op het Instagram account zag ik de mooie nieuwe kussen collectie in Heartwood pink in mooie warme materialen. Net wat ik in huis nodig heb! Toen ik ze kreeg, bleek dat ze prachtig matchen met gordijnen en vintage sari poef, dus ik heb een nieuw kleurenpalet met Heartwood pink en groen in huis!

Wat ik het leukste aan Urban Nature Culture vind, is dat zij mooie authentieke materialen en authentieke prints gebruiken. En omdat je nooit genoeg kussens in huis hebt, moet je zekere een keer naar de kussen collectie van Urban Nature Culture kijken! Het Tibetan SheepFur kussen is echt een must have deze winter. Een zacht roze en warme fluffy schaapsvacht, die je wel moet aaien als je hem ziet. Mijn favoriet is het Fern Leaf kussen, met een prachtige handgeschilderde print van een varen. (Deze blijft hier!). En natuurlijk ontbreekt ook Old Pink Velvet niet in deze collectie. Ook een prachtige warme kleur en de finishing touch van dit trio.

Ik kocht wat eucalyptus, wax bloemen en Protea om deze styling af te maken. Ben je niet van het Heartwood pink, kijk dan even hier voor nog meer mooie kussens.

It has been a while since I went to Madrid...

But if I see this pictures of Casa González & González I have to make plans for a new trip to Madrid soon.

In one of my favourite parts of Madrid, Chueca, this beautiful store opened its doors. The owners of this beautiful industrial looking shop, decided to sell a carfully selected handmade products, from all parts of Europa and even Korea and Japan. Some of these products were forgotten for years, but not they have been put in the spotlights again. There are some beautiful vases of French glass, toothpaste from Porto, brushes forms Sweden and Savon de Marseille, all kind of goods to brighten up your home or yourself. How I love the fantastic minimalistic atmosphere of the store and its products.

I think I have to make sure that I will visit Madrid at the end of this year....

Het is alweer een paar jaar gelden dat ik voor het laatst in Madrid was... Maar als ik deze foto's van Casa González & González zie, moet ik ziet plannen gaan maken om snel naar Madrid te gaan. In een van mijn favoriete wijken, Chueca, heeft deze inspirerende winkel haar deuren geopend. De eigenaren ban deze mooie industriële winkel, hebben er voor gekozen een zorgvuldig gekozen collectie van ambachtelijk gemaakte producten, uit alle delen van Europa en zelfs uit Korea en Japan. Een aantal van deze producten waren al jaren in de vergeethoek geraakt, maar zijn weer helemaal van nu. Er zijn mooie vazen van Frans glas, tandpasta uit Porto, borstels uit Zweden en Savon de Marseille, allemaal spullen om je huis of jezelf mee te verwennen. Ik ben dol op de minimalistische uitstraling van de winkel en de producten. Het wordt hoog tijd om een ticket naar Mardrid te boeken voor het eind van dit jaar...

¡Treasure hunting at Flekzer!

When I started blogging at ¡Muy Bien! one of my purposes was to share lovely shops by inspiring hard working enterpriseneurs. In the five years I am blogging, I shared a lot of beautiful shops. But a real treasure hunt you can start at Flekzer!

Flekzer is a unique webshop, filled with carefully made wannahaves and beautiful unique pieces. Everything fits in all kind of home styles: raw and industrial, bohemian or even country style.

I immediately fell in love with the beautiful shell collection and how happy I was that this beautiful shell wreath could be mine for just a while. I styled it with two lovely art works of Elly Honig at my guest room. Elly uses a very special technique to create her wall cloths. The little one: "To the Moon" has a beautiful stitched moon and some gem stones on it. The bigger one: "Batik", has a beautiful batik stamp on it and a small hook, so you can add some nice things to it. Like the Mala necklace (also a creation of Elly) or the delicious smelling ornament soap which is a gift to every customer.

Flekzer brings you unique finds, like the wooden chandelier I bought and the handmade Mandala coasters. Shopping at Flekzer is really I treasure hunt, so don't forget to visit their webshop frequently, to discover the new beauty's which are added to the shop. Toen ik startte met ¡Muy Bien! was een van mijn doelen om mooie winkels van inspirerende hardwerkende ondernemers een plek te geven. In de ruim vijf jaar dat ik blog zijn er al heel wat winkels gedeeld. Maar echte schatten vind je bij Flekzer! Flekzer is een unieke webshop, gevuld met met liefde gemaakte wannahaves en mooie unieke vondsten. Alles past in verschillende woonstijlen: van stoer en industrieel, Bohemian tot country style.

Ik was meteen verliefd op de prachtige schelpen collectie en wat was ik blij dat ik van deze mooie schelpen krans mocht genieten. Ik stylde het met twee prachtige wanddoeken van Elly Honig. Elly gebruikt een hele speciale verftechniek om haar wanddoeken te maken. Het kleine doek: "To the Moon" heeft een prachtige gestikte maan en een paar mooie stenen. Het groter doek "Batik" heeft een prachtige batik stempel en een handige haak zodat je nog iets moois aan het doek kunt hangen. Bijvoorbeeld de Mala ketting (ook een creatie van Elly) of het heerlijke ruikende ornament zeepje, dat een kadootje is voor iedere klant die iets bij Flekzer bestelt. Flekzer heeft veel unieke vondsten, zoals de mooie houten kandelaar die ik kocht en de handgemaakte Mandala onderzetters. Shoppen bij Flekzer is echt schat zoeken, dus vergeet niet om de website regelmatig te bezoeken want er is altijd wel weer een nieuwe beauty te vinden.
