There were years when i didn't do anything else than Origami. Folding birds, flowers and lost of others things, emptied my head after lots of studying and exams. Once in a while I start folding again. Maybe I should try to start to make myself a this crane bird mobile! On a cold day like this, when Summer seems far away, a good idea.

Jaren geleden had ik periodes waarin ik niets anders deed dan Origami. Vogels, bloemen en nog veel meer vouwen maakte mijn hoofd leeg na lang en veel studeren voor tentamens. Zo nu en dan begin ik weer met vouwen. Misschien moet ik toch maar eens aan een kraanvogel mobile zoals deze beginnen! Op een koude dag als vandaag, wanneer de zomer heel ver weg lijkt, een goed idee.

¡Urban Jungle Bloggers: Plants & Art!

It wasn't that difficult to find a subject for this months Urban Jungle Bloggers theme Plants & Art: my beautiful hummingbird which was painted at my wall by the talented Petra from De Vogelbon! 

She makes lots of beautiful birds to personalise your home as you can see here. Great as a gift to a dear friend, or to sparkle up your own home.

But which plant would fit to it??? Of course it could be my banana tree, so it feels like being on a tropical holiday again. But when I bought myself some flowers I popped into these beautiful Asclepia Syriaca seeds. Whit a little fantasy they look like parrots... So I realy I have my own Urban Jungle at home!

¡Muy Bien!

Deze maand was het niet zo moeilijk inspiratie te vinden voor het Urban Jungle Bloggers thema: Plants & Art: mijn mooie kolibrie die door de talentvolle Petra van De Vogelbon op mijn muur geschilderd is. Petra schildert heel veel mooie vogels op muren en kozijnen, waarmee je je huis iets unieks geeft, zoals je hier kunt zien. Geweldig als een kado voor een dierbare vriend(in) of als een kadootje voor jezelf.

Maar welke plant zou hier goed bij passen??? Natuurlijk kan ik voor mijn bananen plant kiezen, zodat het voelt alsof ik op vakantie ben op een tropische bestemming. Maar toen ik gisteren bloemen kocht, kwam ik deze mooie Asclepia Syriaca takken met zaden tegen. Met een beetje fantasie zie je dat ze op papegaaien lijken... Dus nu heb ik echt een Urban Jungle thuis!

The first day of Summerhours... But how grey it looks today... Spring seems sooo far away... 

So let's do some Urban Jungle Bloggers styling an add some “Happy Green Easter” at home!

Last week I went shopping in Haarlem and bought this beautiful vase filled with bulbs and eggs. Combined with feathers and my favourite bird vase it brings Spring feeling at my home. Can't wait to see these daffodil bulbs bloom... And hope Spring soon will be on its way..

Vandaag is de zomertijd begonnen... Maar het is nat en grijs en lijkt wel herfst...

Dus tijd om aan de slag te gaan met het Urban Jungle Bloggers thema van deze maand en een “Happy Green Easter” hoekje te stylen! Verleden week ging ik een dagje winkelen in Haarlem en kocht deze mooie vaas, gevuld met bloembollen en eieren. Gecombineerd met wat veren en mijn favoriete vogelvaas, komt er een beetje Lente in mijn huis. Kan niet wachten tot deze narcissen gaan bloeien.. En hopelijk komt de Lente dan ook snel in het land..

¡Moodboard Monday #8!

“Ik zou je het liefste in een doosje willen doen en je bewaren, heel goed bewaren. Dan zou ik je verzekeren voor anderhalf miljoen en telkens zou ik even het doosje opendoen en dan strijk ik je zo zachtjes langs je haren...”

Dit liedje van Annie M.G. Schmidt inspireerde mijn keramiek docent voor onze nieuwe opdracht: bedenk wat je in een doosje zou willen doen en maak een doosje dat daar bij past.

Ik moest gelijk denken aan de mooie veertjes die rond dwarrelen door mijn huiskamer en een beter plekje verdienen. Op basis van dit moodboard ben ik aan de slag een doosje te maken. En omdat er een beetje lente in de lucht hangt, deel ik dit moodboard graag met jullie

“I would love to put you in a box and keep you safely, very safely, Than I would insure you for more than one and a half million and every time I would just open that box and touch your hair gently...” This song by Annie M.G. Schmidt was the inspiration for my ceramic teacher to our last assignment: design a box for something which is very precious to you and make that box which fits to the subject. I had to think about all the beautiful feathers which are fluttering through my living and deserve a better place. Thanks to the inspiration of this moodboard I am working on a box. And since there is a little touch of Spring in the air, I like to share this moodboard here.

¡Picture *LOVE* 8!

Door de heerlijke vakantie, kon ik dit jaar helaas niet naar de Woonbeurs. Gelukkig zijn veel bloggers en Instagrammers wel geweest en kon ik via hun foto's mee genieten. Wat was erg eer veel moois te zien en wat een inspirerende huizen van de bladen!

Om er toch aandacht aan te besteden, staat deze Picture *LOVE* in het teken van de Woonbeurs. De mooiste foto die ik gezien heb is gemaakt door Yet van Le Style Studio in het Ariadne at Home huis.

Ik ben dol op de mooie, stoere industriële look (verassende keus van Ariadne at Home), al het grijs, de veren in de stolp en de kraanvogels aan het plafond. Op Instagram (waar ik de foto voor het eerst zag) is de foto nog mooier omdat het daar net lijkt alsof de kraanvogels in de lucht zweven.
Oh wat zou ik graag een kamer als deze thuis hebben...

Due to the lovely holiday, I couldn’t visit the Woonbeurs in Amsterdam this year. Luckily there are a lot of bloggers who published inspiring pictures on their blog and Instagram. What a lot of inspiration and how I liked the inspiration homes of the living Magazines! Just to pay some attention at the Woonbeurs, this Picture *LOVE* has the Woonbeurs as a subject. The loveliest picture I could find is made by Le Style Studio in the home of Ariadne at Home magazine. I love the raw and industrial look (inspiring choice by Ariadne at Home), all the grey, the feathers and the cranes at the ceiling. At Instagram, where I first saw the picture, it is even more beautiful because the cranes look like flying in the room. I would love to have a room like this at home....

¡Oh Marie's Reizend Kringloopgezelschap!

Oh Marie! is een online magazine, met heel veel eigenzinnige wooninspiratie. Een enorme inspiratiebron voor bloggers.

 

 

Misschien heb je ook al eens items van het Reizende Kringloop Gezelschap op blogs zien verschijnen. Bij de launch party van Oh Marie! magazine kregen alle aanwezigen een feestelijke Piňata met daarin een item van de kringloop. Om dit een rijk en waardevol leven te geven mag dit item gaan reizen om vastgelegd te worden op allerlei leuke inventieve manieren. Het wordt daarna doorgegeven aan een volger die datzelfde doet, enzovoort.

Op twitter zag ik de oproep van Maggie Again, die een nieuwe plek voor het geborduurde vogeltje zocht. Deze heeft al eerder een plekje gehad bij Nikki van Liefgeval. Daarna vloog hij verder naar Saskia van Knoopjes, via Babette van Broesj en Hanneke van StudiohMijn.

En nu ben ik de gelukkige!

Oh Marie! is een online magazine, with a lot of original home inspiration. For Bloggers it is a special source of inspiration. Maybe, you also have heard about The fellowship of travelling thriftshop items. At the launch party of Oh Marie Magazine the guests received a Piňata

with a little gift. The items came from a thriftstore and would embark on a great journey to be photographed while traveling through homes of bloggers and other creatives. Afterwards putting a picture on your blog, it travels on to another blogger, who does the same and so one. At Twitter, I read the request from Maggie Again, who was looking for a new place to stay for this embroidered bird. The bird started its journey at Nikki van Liefgeval. Afterwards it flew to Saskia from Knoopjes, through Babette from Broesj and Hanneke from StudiohMijn.

Now I am the lucky one! It was not difficult to make some pictures, because – as you can see- there are a lot of birds in and around my home.
And now it is time to fly on to another Blogger. If you would like to receive the bird, leave a message on this blog. Maybe this time it will fly across the border, to one of my followers from abroad...
