¡Cozy Corners!

In January I like to be at home, especially when it's dark and feeling cold. I am always surprised how the Scandinavian deal with dark cold months, with just a little light. But when I saw this beautiful apartment with its nice corners and windows all around, I can image how great it will be to enjoy the winter period, just sitting at the couch.

In januari vind ik het altijd fijn om thuis te zijn, zeker wanneer het donker en winter koud is. Het verbaast me altijd weer hoe men in Scandinavië van deze donkere koude maanden geniet, terwijl er maar zo weinig licht overdag is. Maar toen ik dit mooie appartement zag, met alle gezellige hoekjes en prachtige ramen, kan ik me voorstellen dat het heerlijk is om zittend op de bank, van de winter te genieten.

At the end of August I will be back in my beloved Spain.

Last year when I was sailing around Ibiza, we stayed a day at its little sister: the quiet island of Formentera! How I would love to be back there and stay in this beautiful, rustic house full of natural details in Spanish style, just enjoying the sunny island life...

Eind augustus ben ik weer terug in mij geliefde Spanje. Verleden jaar maakte ik een zeilreis om Ibiza en verbleven we een dag op het kleine zusje van het eiland: Formentera! Wat wil ik hier graag terug om te verblijven in een mooi rustiek Spaans huis, gevuld met veel naturel details in Spaanse stijl, om heerlijk van het eiland leven te genieten...

When it comes to styling, one of the most forgotten places at home to make cosy and comfortable is the hallway. Also at my place, where I have two narrow hallways, which are always filled with bags, jackets and even my bike...

How different can it be when you have a bright and welcoming hallway, with just some beautiful details like a basket, hats and a beautiful Boucheroute carpet like the entrance of this home. 

Something to dream off...

Bij het stylen van je huis, is de gang vaak een van de meest vergeten plakken om gezellig en comfortabel te maken. Ook in mijn huis, waar ik twee smalle gangen heb, die vaak gevuld zijn met tassen, jassen en zelfs een fiets... Wat ziet het er anders uit als je een mooie lichte hal hebt die je verwelkomt, alleen gevuld met wat mooie details zoals een mand, hoed en mooi Boucheroute tapijt zoals de entree van dit huis. Iets om van te dromen...

¡Nice Design: prints van Louise!

Op Koningsdag liep ik langs een bord met prachtige poster prints.

Mijn favoriet, het huisje was helaas uitverkocht.

Ik raakte in gesprek met Louise die deze mooie ontwerpen maakt en deze op vintage markten en in pop -up shops verkoopt. 

Er zijn plannen voor een Etsy shop (waarin straks ook prints op hout komen), maar tot die tijd kun je deze beauty's bestellen via louise_de_kruijf@yahoo.com voor €5,- per print, (3 prints voor 12,50). De verzendkosten zijn €2,-.

At Kingsday, I walked into a board with beautiful poster prints. Unfortunately, the house, which is my favourite, was sold out... I talked to the designer, Louise, who makes this beautiful designs and sells them at vintage markets and pop-up stores. Louise has plans to open an Etsy shop ( where you also can buy beautiful wooden prints) but until then, you can order these beauty's by sending an email to louise_de_kruijf@yahoo.com. One print costs €5,- ( 3 prints, €12,50) excl. post fee. My house print is on its way. What is your favourite?

Huisjes... Altijd goed en je kunt er nooit genoeg van hebben.

Daarom viel ik meteen voor het mooie servies van Martine de Soet.

Houses.. You never have enough of them. That's why I like the beautiful tableware by Martine de Soet. Simple and nice: hip Dutch design! I added this lovely spoon to my houses collection. Martine makes also nice pictures and paintings. You can order her handmade Christmas cards at her blog “Mijn eigen vorm”. Next to that, Martine is a very nice person, who follows her passion by making this lovely designs.
