One of the most inspiring things is looking inside houses. Luckily we have lots of interior & lifestyle magazines, inspiring blogs and feeds at Instagram where you can get a lot of interior inspiration. So how great is it when you are asked for a fotoshoot inside your own home to inspire others!

Dear Sanne of Style by Sanne, who lives just two streets from my home, came by to make these beautiful pictures! How nice to see your home through the eyes of someone else. Things which are usual to me, became more special, because she saw them at a different sight. Like the embroidered chair of my grandmother. When I got it from my mum I wasn’t that happy with this chair, because I thought my home would look to classic. But now it’s a real eycatcher.

Think one of the most important things to create a warm Home is the use of plants and bringing in souvenirs form foreign travels. Sometimes I feel like a nomad when I carry all the stuff with me, but how happy I am when I can place them in my home. For me the best places to buy special souvenirs are local markets, super markets and even a hardwarestore, but I also brought back a garden design lamp from Copenhagen.

Een van de meest inspirerende dingen is binnenkijken bij een ander thuis. Gelukkig kunnen we ons hart ophalen aan als interieur & lifestyle magazines, inspirerende blogs en Instagram waar heel veel interieur vinden is. Maar hoe leuk is het dan als je gevraagd wordt een fotoshoot van je eigen huis te doen, om zo anderen te inspireren!

Lieve Sanne van Style by Sanne, die maar twee straten van mij af blijkt te wonen, kwam langs om deze prachtige foto’s te maken! Wat super leuk om je huis door de ogen van iemand anders te zien. Dingen die voor mij heel gewoon zijn, werden ineens bijzonder, omdat Sanne ze op een hele andere manier zag. Bijvoorbeeld de geborduurde stoel van mijn oma. Toen ik deze van mijn moeder kreeg, wist ik niet of ik hier blij mee moest zijn, omdat ik het idee kreeg dat het veel te klassiek is. Maar het blijkt dus een echte eycatcher te zijn! Een van de belangrijkste dingen om je huis een echt thuis te laten zijn zijn planten en souvenirs die ik van mijn reizen meenam. Soms voel ik me echt een nomade als ik weer loop te slepen met allerlei spullen, maar iedere keer ben ik weer super blij als ik ze een plekje in mijn huis kan geven. De beste plekken voor mij om souvenirs te kopen, zijn markten, supermarkten en zelfs ijzerwinkels. Maar ooit nam ik ook een design lamp uit Kopenhagen mee. Hello again...

It has been a month since I wrote my last blog. Holidays in Riga (Latvia, which will be on the blog soon), lots of friends to meet and busy at work... and so I had an unexpected blog break. Always good to get new ideas about blogging, but also a lot of new inspiration to share. 

So here I am again!

This weekend started with sunshine and breakfast in the garden. One of my Poppy’s was open and this afternoon my new garden table has arrived. So a last picture of my beloved wooden table, which was in many garden pictures, where I shared a lot of dinners with friends and enjoyed breakfast.

Hello again...

En ineens is er een maand voorbij sinds mijn laatste blog. Vakantie in Riga (Letland. Binnenkort vind je hier natuurlijk een blog over mijn fantastische trip), veel leuke afspraken met vrienden en druk aan het werk... en dan heb je ineens een totaal onverwachte blogbreak. Altijd goed om nieuwe ideeën op te doen, maar ook veel nieuwe inspiratie opgedaan om hier te delen. Dus hier ben ik weer!

Dit weekend starte met zon en ontbijt in de tuin. Een van mijn klaprozen was open en vanmiddag is mijn nieuwe tuintafel gearriveerd. Dus een laatste foto van mijn favoriete houten tafel, die op heel veel foto’s van mijn tuin te zien was, waarin veel gezellige etentjes met vrienden had en van mijn ontbijt genoot.

¡Colourful Calathea!

Years ago, one of the first plants I bought for my home, were two orange bloomed Calatheas. They spiced up my shadowed room, but when they didn’t survive, I forgot them for years.

So luckily they are back again!

Original from the South American jungle, they colour up even the darkest spaces. But al this colours and patterns are also great interior inspiration.

Een van de eerste planten die ik jaren geleden voor dit huis kocht, ware twee Calatheas met oranje bloemen. Een stukje vrolijkheid in mijn soms wat donker woonkamer. Maar toen ze het niet overleefden, vergat ik ze jarenlang. Gelukkig zijn ze weer helemaal terug van weggeweest! Oorspronkelijk komen ze uit de Zuid Amerikaanse jungle, waar ze een colour boost aan de schaduwrijkste plekken geven. Maar de prachtige gekleurde bladeren met hun mooie patronen, zijn ook geweldige inspiratie voor je huis. ¿Heb jij al een Calathea in huis?

A few years ago I painted the wall of my guest room in a Stone Grey. It didn't took me long to realise that Grey is not my colour at all. Since I don't use this room to much, I still haven't repainted it. But I think that will change soon.

When I saw this wall painted in Soft Clay, I got so happy. How I love this earthly pink tone. With the warm green velvet it's a real eye-catcher. 

Think I have a new interior project! And now all I need is some Holliday time at home...

Een paar jaar geleden verfde ik de muur van mijn logeerkamer Lood Grijs. Al heel snel realiseerde ik me, dat Grijs helemaal geen kleur voor mij is. Maar ik kom niet heel vaak op de kamer, dus dat overschilderen, moet nog steeds gebeuren. En ik denk dat dat zo maar eens heel snel kan gaan gebeuren. Toen ik deze muur in Soft Clay zag, werd ik zo blij. Ik ben helemaal verliefd op deze mooie aardse roze kleur. Gecombineerd met dit warme groene fluweel is het een echte eye-catcher. Ik denk dat ik een nieuw interieur project heb! En nu is het enige dar ik nodig heb is een paar dagen vakantie....

¡Urban Nature Culture Cushion Crush!

If there is one interior design brand, I fell in love with at first sight, it must be the Dutch brand: Urban Nature Culture! So how happy I am that they like ¡Muy Bien! Blog and they like working together. I already posted blogs with their ceramics and bamboo plates, but from now their beautiful designs will have a special place at my blog!

At their Instagram feed I saw their beautiful new cushions, in Heartwood pink from warm and fluffy materials. Just what my home needed! When they arrived it turned out that they match great with my curtains and vintage sari pouf, so a new colour scheme, with green and Heartwood pink came into my home!

What I like best about Urban Nature Culture, is that they use authentic materials and beautiful prints. You never have enough cushions, so you should take a look at the beautiful Urban Nature Culture collection. The Tibetan Sheep Fur cushion, is a real must have this winter. Smooth pink and warm fluffy threats, you have to touch this when you see it. My favourite is the Fern Leaf cushion with a beautiful hand painted print of a fern on it. (This one will stay! ) And of course there is an Old Pink Velvet one in the collection. Also warm coloured and the finishing touch of this set.

I bought some eucalyptus, wax flowers and Protea to make this styling complete. When you not in to Heartwood pink, there are a lot of other beautiful designs to discover here!

Als er 1 interieur merk is waarin meteen bij lancering verliefd op werd dan moet het wel Urban Nature Culture zijn! Dus wat ben ik blij dat zij ¡Muy Bien! Blog inspirerend vinden en dat ze het leuk vinden om samen te werken. Ik heb al eens eerder blogs gemaakt over hun mooie keramiek en bamboe borden, maar vanaf nu zullen hun ontwerpen regelmatig terugkomen op mijn blog!

Op het Instagram account zag ik de mooie nieuwe kussen collectie in Heartwood pink in mooie warme materialen. Net wat ik in huis nodig heb! Toen ik ze kreeg, bleek dat ze prachtig matchen met gordijnen en vintage sari poef, dus ik heb een nieuw kleurenpalet met Heartwood pink en groen in huis!

Wat ik het leukste aan Urban Nature Culture vind, is dat zij mooie authentieke materialen en authentieke prints gebruiken. En omdat je nooit genoeg kussens in huis hebt, moet je zekere een keer naar de kussen collectie van Urban Nature Culture kijken! Het Tibetan SheepFur kussen is echt een must have deze winter. Een zacht roze en warme fluffy schaapsvacht, die je wel moet aaien als je hem ziet. Mijn favoriet is het Fern Leaf kussen, met een prachtige handgeschilderde print van een varen. (Deze blijft hier!). En natuurlijk ontbreekt ook Old Pink Velvet niet in deze collectie. Ook een prachtige warme kleur en de finishing touch van dit trio.

Ik kocht wat eucalyptus, wax bloemen en Protea om deze styling af te maken. Ben je niet van het Heartwood pink, kijk dan even hier voor nog meer mooie kussens.

Wallpaper has made its comeback for years now. More and more you see it: walls covered with paintings of old masters, industrial walls or old family pictures. I already wrote this blog about Palmtrees at the wall, but how about a forest in your home?

To get a real winter feeling it would be great to have a forest at the wall. If you take a look at Pinterest, you see that a lot of these wallpapers are placed in the bedroom. But I also like it in other rooms. 

Do you like living in the forest?

Behang is weer helemaal terug van weggeweest sinds een aantal jaar. Meer en meer zie je het muren bekleed met schilderijen van oude meesters, industriële muren of oude familie foto's. Al eerder maakte ik een blog met deze mooie prints van palmbomen, maar wat denk je van een bos in je huis? Om een echt wintergevoel te krijgen is een bos aan de muur een mooie sfeermaker. Als je op Pinterest naar inspiratie zoekt, zie je dat dit behang veel wordt gebruikt in de slaapkamer. Maar het staat ook heel mooi op andere plekken. Durf jij het, een bos op de muur?

If I would live here this dining would be my favourite place at home...

Een licht huis in San Francisco, gevuld met mooie vintage interieur klassiekers uit de fiftiies & sixties, modern kunst en design, gecombineerd met zachte pastellen... Het geeft het gevoel van wonen in een atelier in Parijs.Wat vind ik de vintage lamp en de bloemenprint op de eerste foto mooi. Als ik hier zou wonen, dan zou dit mijn favoriete plek in huis zijn.

¡Urban Jungle Bloggers: Plants & Words!

How happy I am, every time I can make a new Urban Jungle Bloggers blog! Always good for some new plants at home and lots of Green Inspiration.

This time Plants & Words is the theme. I was looking over for a green inspiration quote, when I something reminded me to Marilyn Monroe's song: not diamonds, but Plants are a Girls best Friend! I never have enough of them and discover new friends all the time. So I bought myself this beautiful Kalanchoë with its precious bells (from which I never knew it was a Kalangoë family member), a purple, green and white leafed Tradescantia and a Nepenthes.

Lucky me, I could use theses beautiful ceramic drops by NA Design with prints of cacti and birds. I added them at a wooden wall hanger and together with my Dad's vintage blackboard the Plant & Words scene is complete.

I hope the Kanagoë bells will bloom soon, just like the beautiful cacti at the NA Design drops.

Ik word altijd weer blij als ik een nieuw Urban Jungle Bloggers blog mag maken! Altijd goed voor wat nieuwe planten in huis en heel veel groene inspiratie. Deze keer is Plants & Words het thema. Ik was op zoek naar een groene inspiratie quote, toen ik aan het liedje van Marilyn Monroe moest denken: Niet diamanten, maar Plants are a Girls best Friend! Ik krijg nooit genoeg van ze en ontdek telkens weer nieuwe soorten. Dus ik kocht deze mooie Kalangoë met zijn fragiele bellen (nooit geweten dat deze leukerd ook tot de Kalangoë familie hoort), een Tradescentia met paarse, wit en groen gestreept blad en een Nepenthes. Geluksvogel die ik ben, ik mocht deze mooie hangers van keramiek van NA Design gebruiken voor deze shoot. De hangers hebben prachtige prints van cactussen en vogels. Ik hing ze aan een houten muurhanger en in combinatie met een oude fuik en mijn vaders vintage schoolbord, mijn Plants & Words setting is compleet! Hopelijk gaan de Kalangoë bellen snel bloemen, net zo als de mooie cactusbloemen op de NA Design hangers.
