How I love it that we add more and more colour to our homes!

Last April I finally painted the wall of my guest room In a Terra Pink colour (Soft Clay by VT Wonen). Mixed with the beautiful Tropical prints of May & Fay, it feels like a Holliday in my own home. A perfect place to dream away while having a siësta on a Summer afternoon.

Because I like this colourful rooms so much, from now I will post them frequently at ¡Muy Bien!

Wat ben ik blij dat er steeds meer kleur te zien is in onze huizen! Eind april schilderde ik eindelijk de muur van mijn logeerkamer in een Terra - Roze kleur (Soft Clay van VT Wonen). Gecombineerd met de mooie tropische prints van May & Fay, voelt het als vakantie in mijn eigen huis. Een perfecte plek om even weg te dromen tijdens een siësta op een zomerse middag. Omdat ik dit soort kleurrijke huizen zo fijn vind, zal ik vanaf nu regelmatig wat kleur inspiratie delen op ¡Muy Bien!. One of the most inspiring things is looking inside houses. Luckily we have lots of interior & lifestyle magazines, inspiring blogs and feeds at Instagram where you can get a lot of interior inspiration. So how great is it when you are asked for a fotoshoot inside your own home to inspire others!

Dear Sanne of Style by Sanne, who lives just two streets from my home, came by to make these beautiful pictures! How nice to see your home through the eyes of someone else. Things which are usual to me, became more special, because she saw them at a different sight. Like the embroidered chair of my grandmother. When I got it from my mum I wasn’t that happy with this chair, because I thought my home would look to classic. But now it’s a real eycatcher.

Think one of the most important things to create a warm Home is the use of plants and bringing in souvenirs form foreign travels. Sometimes I feel like a nomad when I carry all the stuff with me, but how happy I am when I can place them in my home. For me the best places to buy special souvenirs are local markets, super markets and even a hardwarestore, but I also brought back a garden design lamp from Copenhagen.

Een van de meest inspirerende dingen is binnenkijken bij een ander thuis. Gelukkig kunnen we ons hart ophalen aan als interieur & lifestyle magazines, inspirerende blogs en Instagram waar heel veel interieur vinden is. Maar hoe leuk is het dan als je gevraagd wordt een fotoshoot van je eigen huis te doen, om zo anderen te inspireren!

Lieve Sanne van Style by Sanne, die maar twee straten van mij af blijkt te wonen, kwam langs om deze prachtige foto’s te maken! Wat super leuk om je huis door de ogen van iemand anders te zien. Dingen die voor mij heel gewoon zijn, werden ineens bijzonder, omdat Sanne ze op een hele andere manier zag. Bijvoorbeeld de geborduurde stoel van mijn oma. Toen ik deze van mijn moeder kreeg, wist ik niet of ik hier blij mee moest zijn, omdat ik het idee kreeg dat het veel te klassiek is. Maar het blijkt dus een echte eycatcher te zijn! Een van de belangrijkste dingen om je huis een echt thuis te laten zijn zijn planten en souvenirs die ik van mijn reizen meenam. Soms voel ik me echt een nomade als ik weer loop te slepen met allerlei spullen, maar iedere keer ben ik weer super blij als ik ze een plekje in mijn huis kan geven. De beste plekken voor mij om souvenirs te kopen, zijn markten, supermarkten en zelfs ijzerwinkels. Maar ooit nam ik ook een design lamp uit Kopenhagen mee. ¡Purple Rain Walls!

At these dark days for Christmas, I am mostly looking for some light. But is seems like dark painted walls are a trending interior topic. 
 

As a kid I had a purple wall and curtain in my room. And I use to have a purple wall in my guest room but I painted it grey a few years ago. Seeing these de beautiful walls, I get realy enthusiast. Love the combination with copper, brass, gold and pink. Purple is a real trend, because Pantone choose Ultra Violet as the colour for 2018.

The only thing you need in a cosy home like this, is Purple Rain by Prince!

Deze donkere dagen voor kerst ben ik meestal op zoek naar veel licht. Maar het lijkt er op dat donker geschilderde muren een trending interieur topic zijn. Toen ik klein was had ik een paarse muur en gordijn op mijn kamer. En mijn logeerkamer had een paarse muur, maar die schilderde ik een paar jaar geleden zink grijs. Als ik deze donkere muren zie, word ik helemaal enthousiast. In combinatie met koper, messing, goud en roze een echte eye-catcher. Paars wordt een echte trend, want Pantone koos Ultra Violet als de kleur van 2018. Het enige dat je dan nog een must have is, is Purple Rain van Prince!

I always try, but I am not a minimalistic Black &White interior person. Mixing and matching, souvenirs, plants, vintage finds and a touch of gold is more my style. So maybe I have to try some Bohemian Black & White!

How I love these images where beautiful Browns, vintage finds and some brass are mixed with black & whites. The simple drawings are my favourites... Might try if can make myself a few of them...

Ik probeer het tekens weer, maar een minimalistisch Zwart & Wit huis is niet aan mij besteed. Ik houd gewoon te veel van het mixen en matchen met souvenirs, planten, vintage vondsten en wat houden accenten. Misschien moet ik maar eens Bohemian Zwart & Wit proberen! Wat vind ik deze foto's waar warm bruin, vintage vondsten en messing zijn gemixt met zwart & wit. De minimalistische tekeningen vind ik het mooiste... Maar eens proberen of ik er een paar kan maken...

About 2,5 weeks ago, this blog was ready to be posted. But then I got the message that my dear Dad had passed away at the age of 84 and the world stood still...

Luckily I have lots of beautiful memories to him and a lot of lessons taught. One of them is that you should always do what makes you happy and where you 're good at.... So that's why I start to blog again...

This year will be a colourful Autumn / Winter!

Warm and bright colours surround us, even in the Scandinavian brands. How I love the new velvet furniture collection by Broste Copenhagen! Warm Orange, deep Blue and stylish Grey mix great with blush pink or light blue walls and a black & white Berber carpet. The colour palette has been chosen to draw attention to the minimalist silhouettes of the chairs and sofa's. There are also pastel coloured velvet cushions, table cloths and blankets to complete this warm atmosphere. Look here for some more inspiration. I am in love with this beautiful Orange sofa.

¿Are you in for some colour splash at home this Winter?

Ongeveer 2,5 week geleden stond dit blog klaar om gepost te worden. Maar toen kreeg ik het bericht dat mijn lieve wijze vader op 84 jarige leeftijd overleden is en de wereld stond stil... Ik heb gelukkig heel veel mooie herinnering om aan terug te denken en hij leerde me heel veel. Een van de dingen die hij altijd tegen me zei was: Doe wat je gelukkig maakt en waar je goed in bent... Dus daarom start ik weer met bloggen..

We krijgen een kleurrijke Herfst / Winter dit jaar! Steeds meer worden we omringd door warme kleuren, zelfs in de Scnadinavische merken. Wat word ik blij van de nieuwe fluwelen meubel collectie van BrosteCopenhagen! Warm Oranje, diep Blauw en stijlvol Grijs staan geweldig bij poederroze en lichtblauwe muren en een zwart wit Berber tapijt. Het kleurenpalet is gekozen om de de minimalistische ontwerpen van de stoelen en sofa's te accentueren. Er zijn ook mooie pastelkleurige fluwelen kussens, tafelkleden en dekens om de warme sfeer compleet te maken. Hier vind je nog meer inspiratie. ¡Travel like a Gypsy in Transylvania!

Slowly I can look forward to my next trip to Bulgaria and Romania, this September...

Two intriguing counties where a lot of Gypsy history can be found. For me a new destination, though I travelled al lot, I haven't been to that part of Europa yet.

Looking for inspiration, I was lucky to find the beautiful Gypsy book by the always inspiring Sibella Court. I cherish her books, with lots of styling inspiration from her travels.

Gypsy shows a glimpse of Transylvania, a part of Romania. If I see the beautiful decorated and colourful textiles and the handmade ceramics and wooden bowls and spoons, I am sure I will take a big bag with me. Hopefully to be filled with lots of beautiful souvenirs....

Langzaam begin ik uit te kijken naar mijn vakantie naar Bulgarije en Roemenië in september... Twee intrigerende landen waar veel zigeuner geschiedenis te vinden is. Voor mij een nieuwe bestemming, want op al mijn reizen heb ik nog nooit dat deel van Europa bezocht. Op zoek naar inspiratie, werd ik heel blij toen ik het mooie boek Gypsy van de altijd inspirerende Sibella Court vond. Ik koester haar boeken, vol met styling inspiratie van haar reizen. Gypsy laat een klein stukje Transylvanië, een streek in Roemenië, zien. Als ik het mooie gekleurde en gedecoreerde textiel zie en het handgemaakt keramiek en houten kommen en lepels, weet ik zeker dat ik een groet tas mee ga nemen. Hopelijk vind ik ook van deze mooie vondsten en kan ik mijn tas gevuld met souvenirs mee naar huis nemen...

¡Treasure hunting at Flekzer!

When I started blogging at ¡Muy Bien! one of my purposes was to share lovely shops by inspiring hard working enterpriseneurs. In the five years I am blogging, I shared a lot of beautiful shops. But a real treasure hunt you can start at Flekzer!

Flekzer is a unique webshop, filled with carefully made wannahaves and beautiful unique pieces. Everything fits in all kind of home styles: raw and industrial, bohemian or even country style.

I immediately fell in love with the beautiful shell collection and how happy I was that this beautiful shell wreath could be mine for just a while. I styled it with two lovely art works of Elly Honig at my guest room. Elly uses a very special technique to create her wall cloths. The little one: "To the Moon" has a beautiful stitched moon and some gem stones on it. The bigger one: "Batik", has a beautiful batik stamp on it and a small hook, so you can add some nice things to it. Like the Mala necklace (also a creation of Elly) or the delicious smelling ornament soap which is a gift to every customer.

Flekzer brings you unique finds, like the wooden chandelier I bought and the handmade Mandala coasters. Shopping at Flekzer is really I treasure hunt, so don't forget to visit their webshop frequently, to discover the new beauty's which are added to the shop. Toen ik startte met ¡Muy Bien! was een van mijn doelen om mooie winkels van inspirerende hardwerkende ondernemers een plek te geven. In de ruim vijf jaar dat ik blog zijn er al heel wat winkels gedeeld. Maar echte schatten vind je bij Flekzer! Flekzer is een unieke webshop, gevuld met met liefde gemaakte wannahaves en mooie unieke vondsten. Alles past in verschillende woonstijlen: van stoer en industrieel, Bohemian tot country style.

Ik was meteen verliefd op de prachtige schelpen collectie en wat was ik blij dat ik van deze mooie schelpen krans mocht genieten. Ik stylde het met twee prachtige wanddoeken van Elly Honig.
