¡A natural oasis in the city centre of Barcelona!

Barcelona is one of my favourite city's, especially for the beautiful houses with lovely authentic details. My favourite place in the city is el Borne, where you find a great atmosphere like being in a village instead of a metropolis.

How I love this beautiful home styled in natural tones! It has special accentuating features which are characteristic from the time when it was built, like it's carpentries, high waved ceilings, thick supporting walls and separating arches that reminds of the site’s history. Studio WIT (who renovated the building) did a great job combining the use of old renovated pieces with contemporary and modern design. A real dreamhouse to me!

Barcelona is een van mijn favoriete steden, vooral omdat ik dol ben op de geweldige huizen met mooie authentieke details. Mijn favoriete wijk is El Borne, waar je je in een klein dorp waant, in plaats van een drukke wereldstad. Dit prachtige huis gestyled in naturel tinten, vind ik echt geweldig! Het heeft prachtige authentieke details uit de tijd waarin het gebouwd is, zoals mooi houtwerk, hoge gewelfde plafonds, dikke muren en bogen en poortjes die verwijzen naar de geschiedenis van dit pand. Studio WIT (die verantwoordelijk zijn voor de renovatie van dit pand) heeft geweldig werk verricht door oude gerestaureerde stukken te gebruiken, gecombineerd met moderne kunst en design. Kortom, een geweldig droomhuis!

Who doesn't dream about living in a castle?

How I love this beautiful French castle in the Charente filled with lots of green plants, vintage wallpaper, beautiful green glassware, old tiles and wooden and vintage furniture. Mixed with lots of authentic details and beautiful crushed walls, it's a real dreamhouse for me.

Wie heeft er niet gedroomd van wonen op een kasteel? Ik ben weg van dit prachtige Franse kasteel in de Charente, gevuld met heel veel groene planten, vintage behang, mooi groen glas, oude tegels en houten en vintage meubels. Deze stijl gemixt met de mooie authentieke details en de mooie verweerde muren is dit een echt droomhuis voor mij!

¡Nice Design: Wonderwire Lamps!

On a rainy, windy and above all grey Sunday, I'll put on some lamps during the day, to bring some light and warmth in the house. Always have a crush on new designs. The beautiful handmaded lamps by Wonderwire are al must haves!

I love the way how Carla designed those lamps. Sometimes with a Bohemian touch, like the macrame lamps, but there are also futuristic lamps made of lamp wires. Carla has worked in a lamp shop for years, but decided to start her own label. All lamps are made with lots of attention. You can buy the lamps here, but if you want to see them in real time, visit the 101 Winkels in Zwolle or during the ZoutsloterChristmas fair in Harlingen at Saturday December 10th.

Op een grijze, stormachtige regendag als vandaag, branden een paar schemerlampen de hele dag, zodat het toch nog een beetje licht en warm in huis is. En lampen kun je nooit genoeg hebben, dus ik ban altijd weer blij als ik mooie nieuwe ontwerpen ontdek. De prachtige handgemaakte lampen van Wonderwire lampen zijn echte must haves! Geweldig hoe Carla staatjes weer weet te verrassen met unieke ontwerpen. De macramé lampen hebben een Bohemian look, maar er zijn ook prachtige futuristische lampen, verrassend gemaakt van lampensnoeren. Carla werkte jaren in een lampen winkel totdat ze besloot haar eigen label op de markt te brengen met handgemaakte ontwerpen. Alle lampen zijn met heel veel aandacht gemaakt. Je kunt de lampen hier kopen, maar wil je ze eerst nog even zien, neem dan een kijkje bij 101 Winkels in Zwolle of bij de Zoutsloter kerstmarkt in Harlingen op zaterdag 10 december. ¿Wat is jouw favoriet?

¡Vintage Holiday Home!

With my holiday in mind and the beautiful Indian Summer we have at the moment, it's always nice to have some interior inspiration of a holiday home. How I love this tiny house filled with beautiful vintage furniture. The Ductch architect en interior design StandardStudio, who took care of the renovation, has carefully preserved the wooden ceiling and mixed the vintage furniture with nice design. How I love the beautiful carpets and the rocking Eames chairs with matches great with the beautiful stone walls... Wish I could go on a holiday again...

Met het vakantiegevoel nog steeds in mijn hoofd en het mooie zonnige Indian Summer weekend, is het altijd fijn om interieur inspiratie op te doen in een vakantiehuis. Op dit kleine vakantiehuis vol met vintage meubels ben ik helemaal verliefd. Het Nederlandse architectenbureau en interieur designers Standard Studio die verantwoordelijk is voor de renovatie van dit huisje heeft de houten plafonds zorgvuldig bewaard en mixte vintage meubels met tijdloos design. De mooie kleden en vintage Eames schommelstoelen die geweldige matchen met de stenen muren, zijn mijn favoriet.... Kon ik maar weer op vakantie gaan...

¡Shops to inspire: Dutch en Route in Den Haag!

Cycling through the inspiring Regentessekwartier in The Hague, I discovered a new Concept store: Dutch en Route! The shop with beautiful plaster decorated ceilings and a lovely green city garden, is full of inspiring goods. But the best is that's owners Veerle and Nitha filled the shop with sustainable designs and that they will be a Social Enterprise as well.

At the back of the shop, there's a large table with sewing machines waiting for the crafts atelier, where some refugees who are master tailors, who will start from September to make clothes and more which Veerle designs.

Next to clothes , Nitha collects lots of vintage interior items, but also designs her own lamps etc. wich are made at non- profit organizations, to give their inhabitants meaningfull daily activities . Next to their design they have designs and jewellery from other sustainable designers. In the weekends you can pass by at Dutch en Route to buy delicious organic bread. And when they have time, they will make you a good cup of coffee, telling you stories about all the designs, while you are strolling around the shop, discovering new items.

Fietsend door het mooie Regentessekwartier in Den Haag, ontdekte ik vlakbij mijn huis een nieuwe conceptstore: Dutch en Route! In een mooi oud pand, met prachtige plafonds met gipsen ornamenten en een mooie groene stadstuin, is een winkel vol met inspirerende spullen. Maar het leukste is dat de eigenaren Veerle en Nitha besloten hebben er een echte Social Enterprise van te maken. Aan de achterkant van de winkel wacht namelijk een grote tafel met naaimachines te wachten op de vluchtelingen die meesterkleermakers zijn en vanaf september aan de slag gaan om de kleding en ander ontwerpen van Veerle te gaan maken. Naast de ambachtelijk gemaakte kleding, verzamelt Nitha vintage interieur goodies, maar ontwerpt ook haar eigen lampen etc. die gemaakt worden bij non- profit organisaties om hun bewoners een zinvolle dagbesteding te geven. Daarnaast is er plek in de winkel voor veel duurzame ontwerpers van o.a. sieraden. En in hete wekend kun je bij Dutch en Route terecht voor Lekker biologisch brood. En mochten Veerle en Nitha tijd hebben, dan maken ze graag een kop koffie terwijl ze je de verhalen vertellen over alle ontwerpen en jij lekker kunt snuffelen in deze inspirerende winkel, waar je steeds weer iets nieuws ontdekt.
