Nowadays you see a lot of interior styles. A mix and match of Scandinavian minimalism, Bohemian, Simplicity in Black & White or colourful basics. But what I like best is that Art Deco and Art Nouveau are back in 2018 again!

I like the dark colours mixed with some golden glam, velvet & fringes and lost of products that refer to nature. Feels like a cosy boudoir style. Though velvet cushions, flowers, birds, feathers and golden accessories made the way to my home, I really would love to have this beautiful velvet daybed with palm - leaves somewhere in my house. Since space is limited in my living I think I have to keep dreaming about this beauty....

Je ziet tegenwoordig veel verschillende woonstijlen door elkaar heen. Een mix en match van Scandinavisch minimalisme, Bohemian, eenvoud in zwart & wit of kleurrijke basics. Maar wat leuk dat Art Deco en Art Nouveau in 2018 terug zijn! Ik ben dol op de donkere kleuren, gemixt met wat gouden glans, fluweel & franje en veel accessoires die naar de natuur verwijzen. Voelt als een warme boudoir style. Fluwelen kussens, bloemen, vogels, even en gouden accessoires hebben al een plek in mijn huis gekregen. Maar wat zou ik graag dit mooie fluwelen daybed, bedrukt met palmbomen een plek geven. Helaas is er geen ruimte meer in mijn woonkamer, dus ik droom nog maar even verder van deze beauty!

December has started, so time to decorate our homes for Christmas.

As always, I am inspired by minimalistic Christmas decorations, like stars and greens. That's why this beautiful Danish Christmas home caught my eye. My home will be decorated in a similar way, but I am still thinking of adding a little Christmas tree this year...

December is begonnen, dus het is weer tijd om onze huizen te versieren voor Kerst. Zoals altijd word ik geïnspireerd door minimalistische Kerst versiering met sterren en dennengroen. Dat is waarom ik meteen enthousiast werd over dit mooie Deense kersthuis. Hier thuis vind je vergelijkbare kerstversiering, maar ik twijfel nog steeds over een klein Kerstboompje dit jaar...

¡Bohemian Black & White!

I always try, but I am not a minimalistic Black &White interior person. Mixing and matching, souvenirs, plants, vintage finds and a touch of gold is more my style. So maybe I have to try some Bohemian Black & White!

How I love these images where beautiful Browns, vintage finds and some brass are mixed with black & whites. The simple drawings are my favourites... Might try if can make myself a few of them...

Ik probeer het tekens weer, maar een minimalistisch Zwart & Wit huis is niet aan mij besteed. Ik houd gewoon te veel van het mixen en matchen met souvenirs, planten, vintage vondsten en wat houden accenten. Misschien moet ik maar eens Bohemian Zwart & Wit proberen! Wat vind ik deze foto's waar warm bruin, vintage vondsten en messing zijn gemixt met zwart & wit. De minimalistische tekeningen vind ik het mooiste... Maar eens proberen of ik er een paar kan maken...

And then my dear IG friend Anneke asked me to write a blog while she is enjoying her holiday.. OMG... I don”t know if I can do that... but I 'll try and hope you 'll like it..

Our neighbour decided to place a new fence; just a normal standard fence, the same as we had.. It will be allright, I thought...

Then the day when the fence was places came. I wasn't at home at the moment, but when I came back home it was there... Terrible ugly... Wooden carved pilers, with yellow colored shelves... How wrong a fence can be... My husband cam home and the children and they all said: quite good fence isn't it? There was no one who looked at it in the way I saw it... It has to be painted Black... and just immediately, I decided, than it won't be to bad.... No everyone said, you can't do it...

Oke, so I let the fence what it was during the winter and started thinking how I could solve this. I already bought Black paint and when the fiorst Spring sunrays were on their way, I started painting at the other side of the garden.. BEAUTIFUL! I just couldnt stop painting with a mantra in miy mind; BLACK, BLACK, BLACK!

And like I like to do it quick, just like I always do... untill the neighbours decided to enjoy the sun in the garden... Right now how half of the fence is Black, which I am very happy about... Think I have to get my brushes to paint the other half...

Geen dag zonder de Inspiratie van Instagram! Terwijl ik van mijn vakantie aan het genieten ben, deelt mijn lieve, altijd bezige en humoristische IG vriendin Josette (@JosvRaamt) haar verhaal over haar zwarte schutting!

Zwarte Schutting

En toen kreeg ik een vraag van mn lieve IG-vriendinnetje, Anneke of ik tijdens haar vakantie een gastblog wilde schrijven. OMG....dat kan ik helemaal niet....maar goed, ik doe een poging en hoop dat jullie het leuk vinden ….

De buurman besloot een nieuwe schutting te plaatsen; gewoon een standaard schutting, dezelfde als die we hadden. Dat zal wel goed komen dacht ik...

De dag van het plaatsen kwam.

Ik was niet thuis....maar weer thuis gekomen stond ie daar dus.... echt LOEILELIJK.....hardhouten palen met ribbels en geeluitziende grenen planken....hoe fout kan een schutting zijn....manlief kwam thuis en de kinderen keken even en zeiden allen in koor; prima schutting toch? Er was niemand die het zag zoals ik het zag......hij moest zwart......en wel meteen besloot ik, dan viel het misschien nog mee....nee joh zei iedereen....dat kan je niet maken....

Oké dan, met moeite liet ik de schutting een winter met rust en begon te bedenken hoe ik dit het best kon aanpakken. Zwarte beits was al binnen en toen de eerste zonnestralen in aantocht waren begon ik met een gedeelte van de andere kant van de tuin........MOOI! Als een bezetene pakte ik alle spullen en begon te rollen met een gonzende mantra in m'n hoofd: zwart, zwart, zwart!

En het liefst zoals ik altijd doe.....snel... totdat de buren besloten van de zon in de tuin te gaan genieten.... De helft is inmiddels zwart daar ben ik heel erg blij mee. Binnenkort de kwasten maar eens pakken voor de andere helft.

Dag leuke en minder leuke mensen.

En An....lief dat je het aan me vroeg!

You can't have missed it: green at home is still a very important styling trend this year!

How I love all these prints of beautiful green leaves. Mostly they are mixed with whites and rattan, but I really like the combination with dark black and some light warm woods. Feels like taking a walk to the jungle (which is to long ago...). So let's buy these beauty's and you have your ticket to the tropics at home...

Je kunt het niet missen: Groen in huis is een van de belangrijkste styling trends dit jaar! Ik ben dol op alle prints met mooie groene bladeren. Meestal worden ze gecombineerd met wit tinten en rotan, maar de combinatie met diep zwart en blank hout vind ik nog veel mooier. Het doet me denken aan een wandeling in de Jungle (wat al weer veel te lang geleden is...). Dus snel wat van deze beauty's aanschaffen en je hebt een Ticket naar de Tropics thuis..

Sometimes you see a house and immediately fall in love...

That's what happened when I say this lovely Belgium house with this great tile floor. Antique and sometimes a little baroque, these beautiful tiles gives a home a very warm touch. Since brown is my favourite color, these tiles caught my eye. Mixed with all the whites and industrial details it's a warm place to live. If I could live I a home like this, I would never leave...

Soms zie je een huis en ben je meteen verliefd. Dat is wat er gebeurde toen ik dit mooie Belgische huis zag, met deze geweldige tegelvloer. Verweerd en soms een beetje barok, oude tegels geven een huis een warme sfeer. Bruin is mijn favoriete kleur, dus deze tegelvloer trok meteen mijn aandacht. Samen met veel wit en industriële details is het een sfeervol en gezellig huis. Als ik hier woonde, ging ik nooit meer weg....

¡Home of a Fashion Designer!

How I love the London home of fashion designer Anna Valentine, with a mix of beautiful design and minimalistic art, green plants standing in front of large open windows, facing the streets of London. And even an unfinshed coat at the wall becomes a piece of art...

Een frisse witte basis, gemixt met warme bruintinten en groene p,anten, mooie design en authentieke souvenirs... Zo krijgt een huis voor mij de sfeer van een atelier. Wat ben ik weg van het Londense huis van modeontwerpster Anna Valentine, waar mooi design, minimalistische kunst, groene planten voor open deuren op de straten van Londen uitkijken. Hier wordt zelfs een onaffe jas aan de muur een kunstwerk...

¡Kitchen & Greens!

I really love to cook especially when it's in an industrial kitchen where beautiful black, greys and wood make a warm atmosphere. This kitchen styled by the talented a Hans Blomquist for IKEA, has it all. He made a beautiful Moodboard and translated this into an unque kitchen. The most special in this kitchen is the use of greens. Not only vegetables, but also greens at the wall. And if you need an extra chair, just put it on the wall.

Ik vind het heerlijk om te koken, helemaal als het in een mooie industriële keuken is, waar mooi zwart, grijstinten en hout een warme sfeer creëeren. Deze keuken, gestyled door Hans Blomquist voor IKEA heeft het allemaal. Hij creëerde een prachtig moodboard en vertaalde het naar een unieke keuken. Het gebruiken groen is het meest opvallen in deze keuken. Niet alleen groenten, maar ook groene planten aan de muur. En heb je een extra stoel nodig? Ze hangen gewoon aan de muur.

Instagram is an every day source of inspiration. I have a lot of people which I follow even day, and some of them became very dear friends. But it's always nice to discover new feeds. How happy I was to discover the beautiful feed of Nora and Laura: Design Tales! At Design Tales they share their common passion for design and home decor at their beautiful Berlin studio. This studio they use for making beautiful pictures for Food Stories, where they inspire people with delicious gluten free recipes.

It took them a year to renovate the studio, where they created a beautiful industrial and minimalistic atmosphere. I like the beautiful windows and the industrial vintage look of the furniture, mixed with the grey tones, and of course, the beautiful kitchen. Looks like a dream house to me...

Iedere dag is Instagram een enorme inspiratiebron voor mij. Er zijn heel veel mensen die ik volg, waarvan een aantal hele dierbare vriendinnen zijn geworden. Maar het is ook altijd leuk om nieuwe feeds te ontdekken. Wat was ik blij toen ik de prachtige feed van Nora en Laura ontdekte: Design Tales! Op Design Tales delen zij hun gedeelde passie voor design en styling in hun prachtige studio in Berlijn. De studio wordt gebruikt om hun prachtige foto's voor Food Stories te maken, het blog waar ze mensen inspireren met heerlijke gluten vrije recepten. Het duurde een jaar om deze studio te verbouwen, waar ze een prachtige industriële en minimalistische sfeer creëerden. Mijn favorieten: de prachtige ramen, de industriële vintage uitstraling van de meubelen, gemixt met alle grijze tonen en natuurlijk de prachtige keuken. Wat mij betreft een echt droomhuis...
