Last weeks I rediscovered my peacock feathers.. Love the beautiful pattern of the blue green eyes, so they got a place in my living room... Since blue is not my color at all I was so happy to find thid beautiful white one. Mixed with the Conjuress print, made by the talented Stephen Mackey, it's an intriguing Still Life at my table...

De afgelopen weken heb ik mijn pauwenveren herontdekt.. Ik vind het patroon met het groen blauwe oog prachtig, dus ze hebben weer een plekje in mijn woonkamer gekregen. Maar eigenlijk is blauw helemaal mijn kleur niet, dus ik was heel erg blij om deze mooie witte pauwenveer te vinden. Samen met de Conjuress print van de talentvolle Stephen Mackey, is het een Stilleven op mijn houten tafel waar ik naar kan blijven kijken...

¡Loft Love in Paris!

That a dreamhouse doesn't have to be big, proves this beautiful designed loft by Margaux Beja in Paris. 

Margaux Beja is a talented designer and interior architect.

Situated in the historical Le Marais quarter, this loft is just a combination of raw materials and neutral tones. Margaux chose them to highlight the existing volumes. How I love the steel doors to the bedroom and the characteristic wooden details of the apartment. Would be great to stay over in this place during a trip to Paris...

Dat een droomhuis niet groot hoeft te zijn, bewijst deze prachtige loft, ontworpen door Margaux Beja. Margaux Beja is een talentvolle ontwerper en interieurarchitect. Deze prachtige loft in het historische Le Marais, heeft een geweldige combinatie van stoere materialen, gecombineerd met neutrale tinten. Margaux koos dit om de volumes van het appartement te benadrukken. Wat vind ik de stalen deuren naar de slaapkamer en de houten spanten mooi. Het zou geweldig zijn in dit appartement te kunnen logeren tijdens een bezoek aan Parijs...

At this time of the year, I can't wait for sunny days filled with Spring!

How lucky I was that my favourite webshop Deens.nl, offered me to choose some items from the Madam Stoltz Spring/Summer16 collection, and write a guest blog about it for their beautiful new website. I choose these lovely mobile with small vases and (as a ceramic addict) the grey and blue tube vases. Great Spring feeling in my home!

I like to share my Spring feeling with you, and thanks to Deens.nl I can make you happy with the four beautiful ceramic tube vases. 3 of them you can hang, one you can put on the table. The vases are from grey ceramic and 3 of them have a dark or light blue part at the bottom. And of course they look great if you put them all together at the table!

In deze tijd van het jaar, beginnen bij mij langzaam maar zeker de lentekriebels te bubbelen en kan ik niet wachten op zonnige dagen gevuld met Lente! Wat was ik blij dat mijn favoriete webshop Deens.nl me de kans gaf om een paar mooie items uit de Madam Stoltz Spring/Summer16 collectie te kiezen en er een gastblog over te schrijven voor hun prachtige nieuwe website. Ik koos voor de leuke mobile met kleine vaasjes en (gezien mijn keramiek verslaving) de grijze en blauwe tube vaasjes. Heerlijk Lentegevoel in huis!

Mijn lentegevoel wil ik graag met jullie delen en namens Deens.nl mag ik 4 keramieken tubevaasjes weggeven. 3 vaasjes kun je ophangen, het vierde vaasje kun je op tafel zetten. De vaasjes zijn van mooi grijs keramiek en 3 hebben en donker of lichtblauwe rand glazuur aan de onderkant. En natuurlijk staan de vaasjes ook geweldig als je ze allemaal bij elkaar op tafel zet!

¡Comfort Food: Vermuteria Carmelitas Tapas Barcelona!

UIf the sun is shining and the days are getting longer, I am dreaming of traveling....

When I visited Barcelona a year ago, I saw a lot of bars where you could drink vermouth. How can this old fashioned drink, which my aunts used to like in the seventies, be so popular? I didn’t taste it that time, but when I went back last August, drinking vermouth was on my To-Do list! 

The place to be for a good vermouth is CarmelitasTapas Raval. Housed in a former convent, you can enjoy several vermouth’s in the beautiful restaurant or at a terrace under the shade of a great tree to watch the street-life at the Raval neighborhood. Since I had good lunch, I skipped the delicious food and tapas, but I am sure I will be back to have a Carmelitas vermouth (still can't find this brand in the Netherlands...) and a delicious dinner or tapas at the beautiful decorated bistro.

Wanneer de zon weer gaat schijnen en de dagen langer worden, heb ik zin om op vakantie te gaan. Toen ik een verleden jaar in Barcelona was, zag ik heel veel bars waar vermout op de drankkaart stond. Hoe kan zo'n ouderwets drankje, dat mijn tantes in de jaren zeventig graag dronken, zo populair zijn? Ik heb het toen niet geproefd, maar toen ik in Augustus weer in Barcelona was, stond het hoog op mijn To-Do lijstje! De plek om een lekker glas vermout the drinken is CarmelitasTapas Raval. Deze vermuteria is gevestigd in een oud klooster, waar je verschillende soorten vermout kunt proeven in het stijlvolle restaurant of buiten op het terras, onder een grote boom in de schaduw waar je het straatleven van Raval aan je voorbij ziet gaan. Omdat ik die dag al uitgebreid geluncht had, sloeg ik de heerlijke tapas over, maar ik weet zeker dat ik de volgende keer wanneer ik in Barcelona ben, terugga om van een heerlijke Carmelitas vermout (helaas kan ik dit merk in Nederland niet vinden) en een lekker diner of tapas in de sfeervolle bistro te genieten.

Het zal enorm veel werk gekost hebben om al deze mooie houten lampen recht boven de tafel te hangen, maar het resultaat is verbluffend! Niet alleen de lampen zijn geweldig mooi, maar het houten dak vind ik super mooi. Het doet me denken aan vakantie in een zonnig land. ¡Nice place to stay: Baixa House Lisbon!

In a month I will be on my way to Lisbon of a four days trip. When I was looking for a place to stay I remembered the beautiful pictures I saw at Instagram of a very inspiring apartment decorated with azulejos, the traditional Portuguese tiles. Since I couldn't find it, I booked an old Portuguese house, of which I hope it will have those tiles as well.

And then I discovered that the apartment where I was looking for, is one if the beautiful apartments of Baixa House. Baixa House is located in the of city centre and has a lot of beautiful apartments in different styles. A lot of vintage and design, found at flea markets, which makes a beautiful warm atmosphere. Every appartment has a beautiful carpet from the Alentejo region. They serve a delicious breakfast, which make you feel like staying at a cosy home. So my next visit to Lisbon, I am sure to stay over there and enjoy a happy holiday in an stylish homely atmosphere! Over een maand ga ik voor vier dagen naar Lissabon. Toen ik op zoek ging maar een plek om te logeren, moest ik meteen denken aan de mooie foto's van een inspirerend appartement, vol met azulejos, de traditionele Portugese tegels, die ik ooit op Instagram zag. Helaas kon ik het nergens vinden, dus ik huurde een oud Portugees huis, waar hopelijk ook van die mooie tegels te vinden zijn. En toen kwam ik er achter dat het mooie appartement waar ik naar op zoek was, een van de mooie appartementen van Baixa House is. Baixa House ligt in de oude stad en heeft verschillende appartementen die allemaal anders ingericht zijn. Veel vintage - gevonden op vlooienmarkten - en design, een warme combinatie. Iedere dag wordt er een heerlijk ontbijt geserveerd, wat je het gevoel geeft in een gezellig huis te logeren. Mijn volgende bezoek is logeren in Baixa House een must, om van een heerlijke vakantie in een stijlvolle huiselijke sfeer te genieten! Neem een kijkje in het Alorna en Jeronimus appartement, het heerlijke ontbijt op 1 van de balkons en ontdek de andere appartementen hier.

En mocht je nog tips hebben voor must visits in Lissabon hebben, dan hoor ik ze graag!
