My holiday count – down has begun. For years I haven't been camping, but I would love to sleep in a space like this on such a beautiful mattress. ¡Industrial Glamping! This year I shall sleep in the desert in a Berbertent, but I am not sure that it would look so nice as on this picture.

¡Breakfast at..... Pim!

Mijn inspiratie komt deze week uit het Zeeheldenkwartier in Den Haag. Sinds een week is de Prins Hendrikstraat weer een ontbijt- en brunch plek rijker: ¡Pim!

Op weg naar je werk en zin in lekker coffee to go? Dat kan ook want er is een uitgebreide coffee kaart.

De eyecather is deze mooie industrial vintage Phillips lamp.

Net als de vintage meubels bij Pim hip opgeknapt en daardoor helemaal van nu. De stoelen hebben deze gave groene dip dye kleuren gekregen.

En niet alleen het meubilair is vintage: er staat nog veel meer moois, dat ook nog eens te koop is, want Pim is ook een vintagewinkel. Naast de heerlijke coffee, cakes en ontbijtjes dus nog een goede reden om langs te gaan.

Je coffee wordt geserveerd met een leuk gesprek met de enthousiaste eigenaren.

Vergeet Pim dus niet als je een dagje gaat shoppen in Den Haag (p.s. Tas-Ka is een paar deuren verder).

This week, all my inspiration comes from the Zeeheldenkwartier in The Hague. A week ago, breakfast and brunch cafe ¡Pim! opened its doors. On your way to work and looking for some good coffee to go? They have lots of choices. The eyecather is this lovely industrial trial Philips lamp. Just like all the vintage furniture it is restored and now they are very hip items. I love the lovely green dip dyed chairs. Not only the furniture is vintage: there are a lot of other vintage items which you can buy, because Pim is also a vintage store. Next to good coffee, cakes and breakfasts, a good reason to visit. Your coffee is served with a good conversation with the enthusiastic owners. So don't forget to visit Pim if you are on a shop tour in The Hague. (p.s. a few doors next to Pim is Tas-Ka)

Binnen no time waren er een heleboel mensen die deze doeken super leuk vonden en heel graag wilde weten waar ze te bestellen zijn. Ik ben maar even terug gegaan om een doek met veertjes te halen en te vragen waar ze te bestellen zijn. Dat kan op deze gloednieuwe Etsy shop: Oni Homemade.

This picture I made last Sunday at the Homemade Market and I posted it at Instagram. In no time there were a lot of people who likes these linen posters and asked me where you can order them. So I went back to buy myself a feather poster and asked for the webshop. You can order them at the brand new Etsy shop: Oni Homemade. Varése paints this lovely posters. Soon there will be some large posters with poems and Dip Dye posters.¡Wannahaves! If the posters do'nt have your favorite colors, mail Varése and ask for them.

¡Bella's Vintage – Art!

Twee keer per jaar wordt in het Zeeheldenkwartier in de Den Haag de Homemade Market gehouden.
Altijd goed voor veel creativiteit en mooie, inspirerende wannahaves.

Ik werd helemaal blij toen ik Bella's - Vintage Art zag: allemaal mooie oude, industriële spullen verwerkt tot kunst in wijnkistjes, lades of oude planken.

Annabel vertelde me het bijzondere verhaal hoe haar kunstwerken tot leven kwamen. Begin dit jaar verloor ze binnen 4 maanden haar ouders.

"Om dit intense verdriet te verwerken gaf ik waardevolle spullen van mijn ouders een speciale plek in houten boxjes. Mijn liefde voor vintage en industriële items kwam tijdens dit proces naar boven en zo ontstond BELLA'S - VINTAGE ART".

Het leuke is dat er achter ieder kunstwerk een verhaal zit. Toen Annabel dit werk gemaakt had, vond ze het nog een beetje te kaal. Ze ging op zoek naar een mooie achtergrond en uit een hele stapel papier viel dit muziekstuk.

Ik viel voor dit mooie kunstwerkje, dat nu staat te schitteren in mijn huis. Wat fijn dat de mooie spullen van de ouders van Annabel op deze manier mensen blij kunnen maken. Ik vind het heel bijzonder een kunstwerkje met zo'n mooi verhaal te hebben.

Twice a year the Homemade Market is organized in the Zeeheldenkwartier in The Hague. Always good for a lot of creativity and lots of nice and inspiring wanna-haves. I got so happy when I saw Bella's - Vintage Art: a lovely industrial items, combined with wooden shelves, wine boxes or drawers. Annabel told me the special story about her artwork: at the begin of this year she lost her parents in four months. "To handle the intense grief I gave my parents' valuables a special place in wooden boxes. My love for vintage and industrial items came up during this process and so BELLA 'S - VINTAGE ART was created". Behind every piece of art there is a story. When Annabel created this work, she first it was a little bit empty. So she went looking for a nice background. Suddenly, from a big bunch of paper, this music page fell out. I felt in love with this beautiful one, which is now an eyecather in my home. How nice that the nice things of Annabels parents make people happy . I think it is very special to have a piece of art with a story like this.

Gisteren was ik bij vrienden die een in geweldig pakhuis wonen.
Als architect en houtbewerker hebben ze oog voor design en detail en staan de origineelste dingen in hun huis.

Ik viel als een blok voor de geweldige stad uit de Desktructure serie die Hector Serrano ontwierp voor Seletti. Niet alleen geweldig om je bureau mee op te vrolijken, maar ook als object op een kast of tafel.

Yesterday I visited some friends who live in a very inspiring warehouse. As an architect and carpenter, they have eye for design and detail, so try have a lot of original decorations in their home. I fell in love with the nice city from the Desktructure series designed for Selleti by Hector Serrano. Not only an eye catcher at your desk but also nice as a sculpture on a closet or table. The fabric or the city... I can't choose... Which is your favorite

¡Thrift store finds & Figs!

 

Op Instagram zie ik vaak de geweldigste kringloopvondsten voorbij komen.
Op 1 of andere manier kan ik hier niet veel inspirerende dingen vinden.
Maar afgelopen zaterdag had ik geluk! Mijn oude vertrouwde kringloopwinkel is na een brand weer heropend en ik vond er deze beauty's.
Gecombineerd met de vijgen uit de tuin die nu beginnen te rijpen, levert het deze plaatjes op.

At Instagram I often see very good finds from the thrift store. I didn't have that luck: things are not that inspiring in the thrift stores next to my home. But last Saturday I was lucky! My favorite thrift shop reopened after a fire and I found this beauties. Combined with the figs from my garden, which are growing ripe now, it makes these pictures.

De mooie oude zwarte deur, de geweldige schoolplaat met de zwarte vogels en de betonnen wand: wat een geweldige plek en super mooie styling van Tina Hellberg. De foto is genomen in een klein appartement in Stockholm waar je de combinatie van beton, zwart naturel en industriële meubels overal tegenkomt. Zo wil ik ook wel wonen.

Seeing this picture was falling in love at the first sight. I love the beautiful old black door, the nice old school picture with the blackbirds and the concrete wall: what a great place and spur inspiring styling by Tina Hellberg. This picture was taken in a small apartment in Stockholm where you can find the combination of concert, black, natural and industrial furniture everywhere around. I would love to live in an apartment like this!
