Ik ben in zomerse sferen en een hangmat hoort daar voor mij helemaal bij.
Op reizen naar Colombia, Venezuela, Suriname en Turkije sliep in nachten in een hangmat. Voor mij het ultieme vakantie gevoel.
Maar slapen in een Indiaase tempel zoals deze in Amber Fort, zou echt een sprookje uit 1001 nacht zijn.

I love the summer and a hammock is part of the ultimate summer feeling to me. When I travelled to Colombia, Venezuela, Surinam and Turkey, i slept nights in a hammock. To me the ultimate holiday feeling. Bust sleeping in an Indian temple like this one in Amber Fort, would really be a 1001 night fairytale. ¡Summer in the City: Roof Garden Arnhem!

Wat is Arnhem toch een fijne, hippe, creatieve stad: ons Berlijn aan de Rijn!
Met Urban Green als uitgangspunt, word het dak van een parkeergarage omgetoverd tot een fijn stadspark: Roof Garden.

Je kunt er heerlijk genieten van borrel en diner of pootje baden in een hot tub, maar je kunt er ook naar de silent disco, sterren kijken en er worden ook yogalessen gegeven en veel andere activiteiten georganiseerd.

 

 

Natuurlijk is er veel aandacht voor groen: er worden allerlei groeten en fruit gekweekt, er is een heuse theetuin, wordt zonne-energie opgewekt en er staat een bijen kas.

Ik vind het een Top idee: dat zouden alle steden moeten doen! (Gemeente Den Haag wat denken jullie van de Q-Park garage in de Prins Hendrikstraat?)

Wil je een kijkje nemen dan kan dat nog tot 22 juli. Volgend jaar de hele zomer?

I love the creativity of Arnhem: the Dutch Berlin at the Rhine! With Urban Green as a start, the roof of a garage is used as an ice city park: Roof Garden. You can enjoy some drinks or nice dinner or paddling in a hot tub, but you can also watch the stars, go to the silent disco and there are also yoga classes and lots of other activities. Of course there is much attention for green: they grow all kind of fruits and vegetables, there is a real tea garden, sun energy is collected and they have a bee hive. I like this idea very much: every city should organise this (City of The Hague what do you think of the Q park garage at the Prins Hendrikstraat?). If you want to visit Roof Garden: it is open until July 22th. Next year all summer?

¡DaWanda Fimo Clay Challenge!

Eind juni werd de tweede bloggerslunch door Sandra van Accessorize your Home en Femke van Heeerlijk georganiseerd. Alle bezoekers kregen een goodiebag mee naar huis met o.a. een pakketje klei van DaWanda en een uitdaging om van die klei een leuk ontwerp te maken. Helaas was ik niet bij de bloggerslunch, maar ik werd helemaal geïnspireerd door de mooie foto's die op Instagram langs zag komen. Gemaild met DaWanda en ik mocht ook mee doen. Super leuk!

Ik werd geïnspireerd door de mooie zwaluw op een lucifersdoosje en moest meteen denken aan de luciferpoppetjes die ik vroeger had. Dat waren de grootste kadootjes die je me kon geven. Dus ik heb een aantal geluksdoosjes gemaakt.

Ik denk dat ik er nog niet klaar mee ben en er nog heel veel doosjes met mooie Fimo figuurtjes zullen volgen.

Hier kun je nog veel meer mooie ontwerpen zien die met de klei gemaakt zijn. Als je stemt op je favoriete ontwerp kun je een DaWanda bon winnen. Dus vind je deze (nummer 6) of de andere ontwerpen leuk, stem dan voor 18 juli 12.00 uur a.s.!

In June Sandra from Accessorize your home and Femke van Heeerlijk organised a second bloggers lunch. All the bloggers who attended the lunch, were surprised with a goodie bag with Fimo Clay, given by DaWanda. DaWanda challenged the bloggers to discover the material and make some nice designs with it. Unfortunately I couldn't attend the lunch, but I got so inspired by all the designs I saw at Instagram, so I mailed DaWanda and also received a parcel with the clay. So much fun! I was inspired by the swallow on a matchbox en and to think of the match dolls which I got when I was young. That were big moments of happiness, so I decided to make some Happy boxes. I don't think I am ready with them and I think the will follow a lot of boxes with little Fimo presents. Here you can see the other designs which are made with the clay. Soms kom je ontwerpen tegen waarvan de details het ontwerp maken. Zo ook deze tafels van de ontwerpers van Fraaiheid.

Ik ben een optimist heb iets met "plusjes" dus vind het super leuk dat deze in de tafels gebruikt zijn. Maar ook in de constructie zijn er heel veel plusjes terug te zien. Maar ook het verhaal achter de tafel is de moeite waard.

Ik ben fan!

Sometimes you see products where the details make the design. I like this tables designed by Fraaiheid. I am an optimist and like "plusjes" a lot, so it pleases me that this tables are decorated with them. Also the construction has a lot of them. But even the story behind the design is worth reading. I am a fan!

¡Shops to inspire: WAUW!

Je kunt me altijd blij maken met leuke, inspirerende (woon) winkels, maar DE ontdekking van het jaar is toch echt wel WAUW in Den Haag!
WAUW staat voor Wild And Unique Warehouse en uniek is het zeker: de winkel is gevuld met allerlei bijzondere en super leuke spullen.

De zussen Eva en Nina waren hun “saaie, stomme banen helemaal zat.” Zij droomden ervan om mensen blij te maken, om mensen weer om zich heen te laten kijken. Sinds een paar maanden zijn ze daar super enthousiast mee bezig in hun verassende winkel aan de Piet Heinstraat.

In de winkel worden ontwerpen van mensen uit de buurt verkocht.

Maar ook mooie vintage artikelen. (Zo'n spijt dat ik de mooie weegschaal niet meegenomen heb).

Het allerleukste vind ik al het groen dat in de winkel te vinden is:

WAUW organiseert ook workshops. Nina organiseerde voor de blogshoptour een miniworkshop: Fortune Cookies maken.

You can always make me happy with nice, inspiring (home) stores, but THE most original shop i have visited this year, is without any doubt: WAUW in The Hague! WAUW means Wild And Unique Warehouse, and unique it is: the store is filled with all kind of original and very inspiring things. Eva and Nina (two sisters) didn't like their "dull" job and dreamed of making people happy, and look around themselves. Since a few months they have started with lots of enthusiasm to do so in their surpassing store at the Piet Heinstraat. They sell original designs, made by people of the neighbourhood, but also very nice vintage stuff ( I regret that I didn't buy this lovely scale...). But all the green in the store, is what I like most. If you read this, you want to have (stick insect) Josephine or Louisette as a roommate? WAUW also organises workshops. When we visited them at the blogshoptour, Nina organised a mini workshop: making Fortune Cookies. So if you are in The Havue, make a visit to them. I am sure that you will leave WAUW with a smile on your face! You can also get an inspiring newsletter.

Margreet van Oui.Oui studio vroeg me een paar weken geleden via Instagram om iets meer over mezelf te vertellen. Als je mee doet, stel je de vraag weer aan iemand anders en zo door. Op die manier krijgen de foto's die gedeeld worden meer betekenis en weet je wie de persoon is die de foto's maakt.
