¡Simpel en mooi... Sneeuwklokjes!

Anemonen, Tulpen, Ranonkels, Hyacinten, Witte Druifjes... je kunt me blij maken met alle voorjaarsbloemen. Maar Sneeuwklokjes die tussen de sneeuw uit piepen, zijn echt mijn favorieten!

¡Shops to Inspire... De OPkikker!

Wat word ik blij van alle leuke en inspirerende woon- en kadowinkels die Den Haag rijk is. En helemaal wanneer die in en om de wijk zijn waarin ik woon. Vanaf nu zal ik regelmatig een van deze winkels en hun leuke ondernemers in het zonnetje zetten op mijn blog.

De kick – off is voor De Opkikker van Marjolein Raaphorst.



Op zoek naar kadootjes waar ik zelf blij van word, werd ik verleden jaar verrast door DE Opkikker op het Thomsonplein. De Opkikker is een echte ontdekwinkel vol originele kunst, kado’s, sieraden en woonaccessoires … leuk om te krijgen en gaaf om te geven! Sindsdien loop ik er regelmatig naar binnen voor inspiratie en een leuk gesprek met Marjolein en ga er bijna nooit met lege handen weg.



Je kunt bij De Opkikker niet alleen geweldige woonspullen kopen en inspirerende kunst bekijken, huiscateraar Pepers serveert koffie en thee met heerlijke zelfgemaakte taart, koekjes en broodjes.

Op dit moment kun je genieten van de mooie expositie van Natascha Morsink – Mus. Het schilderij met kruis zou zo mooi hier staan.... Maar ook haar andere werk is zo bijzonder.

Ook worden er bij De Opkikker workshops gegeven voor kinderen en volwassenen. Bijvoorbeeld op 16 maart een workshop Interieur Moodboard en op 22 maart en workshop Lampen Opkikkeren voor kinderen.

Helaas, de winkel is inmiddels gesloten...

I get very happy from all the inspiring home-decorating and gift-shops in The Hague. Especially when they are located in or next to neighborhood I live. From now, I will put some shops and their inspiring owners, in the spotlight at my blog. My kick – off starts at De Opkikker owned by Marjoleine Raaphorst. Looking for presents which I would like to have, last year I entered De Opkikker at the Thomsonplein. De Opkikker is a real conceptstore with lots of things to discover. You will find a great collection of nice presents, jewelery and inspiring home-decoration, nice to get and very good to give. Since then I visit the shop often for some inspiration and a nice conversation with Marjoleine. I almost never leave empty handed. You can't only see very inspiring art and buy nice home-decoration or furniture, they have their home catering which serves lovely cakes, coffee and lunches. At the moment there is an art exhibition by Natascha Morsink – Mus. I would love to have the painting with the cross.. It would look fabulous in my livingroom. ¡Nomad... Bringing your travels home!

Dol op reizen en interieurstyling als ik ben, stond het boek Nomad van Sibella Court hoog op mijn verlanglijstje. Wat was ik blij toen ik het boek voor mijn verjaardag kreeg! Wat een prachtige foto's vol inspiratie! Op Pinterest kun je heel wat foto's uit Nomad en haar andere boeken terug vinden.

Nomad is ook qua trends een belangrijk thema voor 2013.

 

 

 

Inmiddels heb ik zelf ook al heel wat mee gesjouwd van al mijn reizen.
Meestal start ik bij een lokale markt of supermarkt (of ijzerwinkel in Spanje), omdat je daar vaak unieke souvenirs vindt.

Niet alleen kruiden, glazen, Spaanse schalen en bakjes hebben een weg naar mijn huis gevonden, er is al heel wat meegesjouwd in de rugzak. Zoals het boompje met keramieken vogeltjes dat ik op dag 2 van mijn vakantie in Guatemala vond en ik 4 weken mee moest sjouwen...Van Marokkaans dienblad tot cricket-set voor vrienden; van tangoschoenen tot Deense design lamp voor de in de tuin, veel heeft inmiddels een plekje in huis gekregen. Zo fijn om weer terug te denken aan alle bijzondere plekken waar ik geweest ben en de inspirerende mensen die ik daar ontmoette!

Ik kijk nu al uit naar de volgende reis!

Because I love to travel and I am fond of interiorstyling, the book Nomad by Sibella Court was high on my wish list! So I was very happy to receive it as a birthday present. What a nice pictures, full of inspiration! At Pinterest you can find lots of pictures from Nomad and her other books. As a trend, Nomad is an important theme for 2013. I have traveled a lot, and brought a lot of souvenirs from my trips. Normally I start at the market or supermarket (or hardware store in Spain), because there you can find original souvenirs.

Not only herbs, glasses and Spanish pottery had found itheir way to my home, I carried a lot of things in my backpack. Like the lovely tree with ceramic birds, which I bought the second day of my holidays in Guatemala and which I had to carry for four weeks... A Marrocan teatray, a cricket set for friends, handmade tango shoes and a Danish design garden lamp: all found their way to my home. It is so nice to remember the nice places I have been to and the lovely people I met, by looking at all this things! Here are a few of my favourite items.
I am looking forward to my next trip!

¡Oh Marie's Reizend Kringloopgezelschap!

Oh Marie! is een online magazine, met heel veel eigenzinnige wooninspiratie. Een enorme inspiratiebron voor bloggers.

 

 

Misschien heb je ook al eens items van het Reizende Kringloop Gezelschap op blogs zien verschijnen. Bij de launch party van Oh Marie! magazine kregen alle aanwezigen een feestelijke Piňata met daarin een item van de kringloop. Om dit een rijk en waardevol leven te geven mag dit item gaan reizen om vastgelegd te worden op allerlei leuke inventieve manieren. Het wordt daarna doorgegeven aan een volger die datzelfde doet, enzovoort.

Op twitter zag ik de oproep van Maggie Again, die een nieuwe plek voor het geborduurde vogeltje zocht. Deze heeft al eerder een plekje gehad bij Nikki van Liefgeval. Daarna vloog hij verder naar Saskia van Knoopjes, via Babette van Broesj en Hanneke van StudiohMijn.

En nu ben ik de gelukkige!

Oh Marie! is een online magazine, with a lot of original home inspiration. For Bloggers it is a special source of inspiration. Maybe, you also have heard about The fellowship of travelling thriftshop items. At the launch party of Oh Marie Magazine the guests received a Piňata

with a little gift. The items came from a thriftstore and would embark on a great journey to be photographed while traveling through homes of bloggers and other creatives. Afterwards putting a picture on your blog, it travels on to another blogger, who does the same and so one. At Twitter, I read the request from Maggie Again, who was looking for a new place to stay for this embroidered bird. The bird started its journey at Nikki van Liefgeval. Afterwards it flew to Saskia from Knoopjes, through Babette from Broesj and Hanneke from StudiohMijn.

Now I am the lucky one! It was not difficult to make some pictures, because – as you can see- there are a lot of birds in and around my home.
And now it is time to fly on to another Blogger. If you would like to receive the bird, leave a message on this blog. Maybe this time it will fly across the border, to one of my followers from abroad...

¡Tea Art!

Upcycling is een van mijn favoriete trends. Want wat is het leuk om spullen te hergebruiken en er iets heel nieuws van te maken.
Ik ben ook een een echte theeleut en heel blij met de theewinkels Betjeman & Barton en Kali Tengah, die Den Haag rijk is.

Waar ik echt blij van word is deze Tea Art van Githa Schrijver!

Zij gooit gebruikte theezakjes niet weg, maar maakt er kunst van. Allemaal even mooi en bijzonder. In 2012 heeft ze vele theezakjes onder handen genomen en het resultaat is op haar website te zien.

I am also a real tea addict, and am very glad with tea shops like Betjeman & Barton and Kali Tengah, which stores are in The Hague next to my home.So I was very happy to I discover the Tea Art from Githa Schrijver! She doesn't trow away used tea bags, but transformers them in pieces of art. Every piece is very special! In 2012 she made one every day. You can see them all on her website, but these are my favourites!
