How happy I was that Bolia.com opened its doors in a beautiful Jugendstil shop in The Hague. Surrounded by original details, the Scandinavian design has got its place. Every time I walk through the shop, I discover new styled rooms and beautiful designs. One of my favourites: the Strap shelves. Made of warm coloured wood and some leather accents, this beautiful shelves are a real eyecatcher at your home. The Strap consist of flexible shelves, which you can change all the time. Wat was ik blij toen Bolia.com verleden jaar zijn deuren opende in een prachtige Jugenstil winkel in Den Haag. Omringd door de authentieke details, kreeg heel veel mooi Scandinavisch design een plek. Iedere keer als ik er ben, word ik weer verrast door de prachtige stijlkamers en de mooie ontwerpen. Een van mijn favorieten: de Strap planken. Deze zijn gemaakt van warm hout en hebben prachtige leren accenten, echte eyecatchers voor je huis. De Strap bestaat uit flexibele planken, die je steeds weer anders op kunt hangen. Zelfs als een klein bureautje is het een stijlvolle Scandinavische beauty voor je huis. Goed nieuws: tot 5 maart 2017 kun je ze met een fijne korting aanschaffen.

When weekends are grey and wet like this, and Spring is still hard to find, it's always good to enjoy some Comfort Food!

Not even the food will be great at the new Copenhague in Paris, so is the interior! How I love the dark tones and beautiful Danish design which is used to decorated the restaurant. Since its been ages when I visited Paris, should have this on my must visit wish list...

Als het weekend grijs en regenachtig is, en er nog geen spoortje Lente te vinden is, is het altijd fijn om van Confort Food te genieten! Niet alleen het eten is geweldig in het nieuwe restaurant Copenhague inParijs, ook het interieur is een feestje! Ik ben echt verliefd op de mooie donkere kleuren en het Deense design dat gebruikt is om het restaurant in te richten. Omdat het jaren geleden is dat ik in Parijs was, wordt het hoog tijd deze plek hoog op mijn must visit wensenlijstje te zetten...

¡Cushion Crush: KRYDDAD by IKEA!

You always can make me happy with beautiful hand embroidered cushions, especially when they come in beautiful greys... Again IKEA surprise me with the beautiful KRYDDAD collection, made by Indian women in the social enterprises they support. Next to these cushions there are some beautiful handmaded baskets as well. Be quick because it's a limited edition which is only sold in a few shops.

Je kunt me altijd blij maken met mooie handgeborduurde kussen, helemaal als ze prachtig grijs zijn... IKEA verrast opnieuw met de mooie KRYDDAD collectie, gemaakt door vrouwen in India die werken in de sociale ondernemingen die zij daar steunen. Naast deze kussens zijn er ook prachtige handgemaakte manden. Wees snel, want het is een limited collectie die niet in alle IKEA vestigingen verkrijgbaar is.

Today was a day filled with grey, wind and rain...

After a day filled with inspiration and making new plans it's time to warm up at home. Cocooning on the couch with a warm blanket, a cup of tea, nice book and some chocolate... How nice would it be if my home would be coloured like this: filled with warm woollen greys and some rusty accents... 

My favourite colour palette!!

Vandaag was het een grijze regenachtige dag met veel wind... Na een dag vol inspirerende afspraken en nieuwe plannen, is het tijd om thuis lekker op te warmen. Dus cocoonen op de bank met een warme deken, een kop thee, mooi boek en chocolade... Wat zou het fijn zijn als mijn huis deze kleuren zou hebben: gevuld met warme wollen grijzen en wat roestoranje accenten... Mijn favoriete kleurenpalet.

Instagram is an every day source of inspiration. I have a lot of people which I follow even day, and some of them became very dear friends. But it's always nice to discover new feeds. How happy I was to discover the beautiful feed of Nora and Laura: Design Tales! At Design Tales they share their common passion for design and home decor at their beautiful Berlin studio. This studio they use for making beautiful pictures for Food Stories, where they inspire people with delicious gluten free recipes.

It took them a year to renovate the studio, where they created a beautiful industrial and minimalistic atmosphere. I like the beautiful windows and the industrial vintage look of the furniture, mixed with the grey tones, and of course, the beautiful kitchen. Looks like a dream house to me...

Iedere dag is Instagram een enorme inspiratiebron voor mij. Er zijn heel veel mensen die ik volg, waarvan een aantal hele dierbare vriendinnen zijn geworden. Maar het is ook altijd leuk om nieuwe feeds te ontdekken. Wat was ik blij toen ik de prachtige feed van Nora en Laura ontdekte: Design Tales! Op Design Tales delen zij hun gedeelde passie voor design en styling in hun prachtige studio in Berlijn. De studio wordt gebruikt om hun prachtige foto's voor Food Stories te maken, het blog waar ze mensen inspireren met heerlijke gluten vrije recepten. Het duurde een jaar om deze studio te verbouwen, waar ze een prachtige industriële en minimalistische sfeer creëerden. Mijn favorieten: de prachtige ramen, de industriële vintage uitstraling van de meubelen, gemixt met alle grijze tonen en natuurlijk de prachtige keuken. Wat mij betreft een echt droomhuis... Daddy, please get the Moon for me...

This is the name of a book (by Eric Carle) I used to read a lot when I was working in a children's hospital. Since then, I am always inspired by interior accessories with planets and this will be my lucky year, since Planetarium is one of the upcoming trends for 2017. So how happy I was to discover the La Luna (moon) poster by DesignClaud.

How I like the beautiful color palette in each moon! The La Luna posters are printed on beautiful glossy paper and there are four different colour palettes. There is also a poster with the different moon phases.

DesignClaud can print every poster in different standaard paper sizes. Therefore it might be difficult to find a matching frame. But you can also do like I did: I bought a piece of wood which was sawed into the same measures as the Orange - Red La Luna and I sticked the poster to it with some washi tape (or you can use some glue spray). For the GreyLa Luna I used a vintage frame, which my mum bought at the thriftmarket at Queensday.

But when making pictures I discovered that the vintage frame matches great with the Orange - Red La Luna, since the grey wall gives it a beautiful passe-partout. So I think that my guest will be dreaming away under a Orange- Red moon from now....

Pappa, pak je de maan voor mij?

Dat is de titel van een prentenboek (van Eric Carle) dat ik veel las toen ik in een kinderziekenhuis werkte. Sindsdien ben ik altijd geïnspireerd door planeten als interieur accessoires en dit jaar heb ik geluk, want Planetarium is een van de opkomende trends voor 2017. Wat was ik blij toen ik de La Luna poster van DesignClaud ontdekte! Wat een prachtige kleurenpaletten hebben deze posters! De La Luna posters worden op mooi glimmend papier geprint en zijn er in 4 verschillende kleuren. Daarnaast is er nog een poster met de verschillende maanstanden. DesignClaud print iedere poster op verschillende (standaard papier) formaten. Daardoor kan het misschien lastig zijn een passende lijst te vinden. Maar je kunt dit misschien op dezelfde manier oplossen als ik deed: bij de houthandel liet ik voor de Oranje-Rode maan een plaatje hout op maat zagen. Ik plakte de poster met washi tape op het hout (maar je kunt natuurlijk ook lijm spray gebruiken). Voor de Grijze La Luna poster gebruikte ik een oude vintage lijst, due mijn moeder ooit voor me kocht op Koninginnedag. Maar toen ik de foto's voor dit blog maakte, merkte ik dat de Oranje-Rode La Luna poster ook heel mooi staat met de vintage lijst, omdat de grijze muur er een verrassend passe-partout aan geeft. Ik denk dat mijn logees vanaf nu onder een Oranje - Rode mogen dromen...

¡Natural Beauty: Stockholm 2017 by IKEA!

Today is the first day when it really looks like spring again. A sunny and cloudless sky, which make me very happy after some long dark, but cosy months. Time to change the color pallet at home and more space for beautiful rattan and new design.

This year IKEA surprises us with a lot of beautiful new collections. Since I will visit Stockholm at the end of May, I was immediately touched by the Stockholm 2017 collection. Love the beautiful rattan furniture and the very nice lamp. Here you can see some more of the collection. Which one is your favourite?

Vandaag is het de eerste dag die voelt als Lente! Een zonnige en wolkenLoze lucht, die me erg blij maakt na de lange donkere, maar gezellige maanden. Tijd om de kleuren thuis te verwisselen voor mooi rotan en nieuwe ontwerpen. Dit jaar verrast IKEA ons met heel veel mooie nieuwe collecties. Eind mei ga ik naar Stockholm, dus de Stockholm 2017 collectie trok meteen mijn aandacht. Ik vind de mooie rotan meubels en de prachtige zilveren lamp geweldig. Hier kun je meer van de collectie zien. Wat is jouw favoriet?

Who doesn't dream about living in a castle?

How I love this beautiful French castle in the Charente filled with lots of green plants, vintage wallpaper, beautiful green glassware, old tiles and wooden and vintage furniture. Mixed with lots of authentic details and beautiful crushed walls, it's a real dreamhouse for me.

Wie heeft er niet gedroomd van wonen op een kasteel? Ik ben weg van dit prachtige Franse kasteel in de Charente, gevuld met heel veel groene planten, vintage behang, mooi groen glas, oude tegels en houten en vintage meubels. Deze stijl gemixt met de mooie authentieke details en de mooie verweerde muren is dit een echt droomhuis voor mij!

¡showUP 2017!

Twice a year we have a great trade market for home and gifts in the Netherlands: showUP! From the beginning the trade market became a huge success, full of inspiration and beautiful designs of (mainly) Dutch designers and beautiful interiors brands. Since some international interior brands discovered the trade market, the trade market grew bigger every year. While it once was held in the beautiful industrial Kromhouthal and Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam, the show now is held at the Expo Haarlemmermeer, where you can meet more brands and inspiring designers.

Last Sunday I visited showUP and was inspired by beautiful ceramics and interior brands. Always nice to meet the people behind the brands, webshops and designers and get inspired by them. This year there was a lot of green inspiration for your homes, but also some other nice color pallets showed Up like: pale blue and an inspiring combination of orange, gold and pink.

Twee keer per jaar wordt de geweldige trade markt voor huis en kadoos georganiseerd: showUP! Vanaf het begin was de markt een groot succes, vol met inspiratie en mooie ontwerpen van (voornamelijk) Nederlandse designers en interieur merken. Ook verschillende. Internationale merken hebben de beurs ontdekt, waardoor deze steeds weer groter van opzet is. Werd de beurs in het begin nog gehouden in de mooie industriële Kromhouthal en Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam, al snel groeide de beurs naar de Expo Haarlemmermeer, waar je nog meer merken en inspirerende ontwerpen kunt vinden. Afgelopen zondag bezocht ik showUP en werd geïnspireerd door prachtig keramiek en interieur merken. Altijd leuk om de mensen achter het interieur merk, webshop of ontwerper te ontmoeten en door hen geïnspireerd te worden. Dit jaar was er heel veel groen inspiratie voor in huis, maar er waren ook een aantal andere mooie kleuren paletten doken op, zoals water blauw en een inspirerende combinatie van oranje, goud en roze. Hier zie je een mijn favoriete interieur merken en ontwerpen.
