Weatherd walls, frosted green and lots of white....That makes a magical minimalistic Christmas! 

 Love this beautiful industrial rooms with just a touch of green and lots of white candles. The green velvet couch is really my favourite! Would love to have one like this and enjoy my Christmas in my most favourite way: just a pyjama day with a warm blanket, nice book, some Audrey Hepburn films and a glass of wine.

Verweerde muren, bevroren groen en heel veel wit... Ingrediënten voor een magische minimalistische kerstsfeer! Ik vind deze groene fluwelen bank echt een topper! Zo een zou ik er ook wel thuis willen hebben en van Kerst genieten op mijn favoriete manier: een pijama- dag met een warme deken, mooi boek, Audrey Hepburn films en een glas rode wijn.

¡Winter Wonderland!

Lucky us: we have two days of snow. Even in The Hague we have about 10 cm of snow. 
Yesterday I went for a walk enjoying snowflakes falling on my head. How I enjoyed the beautiful white quiet Winter Wonderland, even in the middle of the city. Unfortunately I had to work today and watched the snow falling down behind the window. 

Of course, winter days like this will end at home with warm chocolate milk & wiped cream, blueberries and my favourite Christmas music of Smith & Burrows.

¡Muy Bien!

Wat een geluk: we hebben al twee dagen sneeuw in Nederland. Zelfs in Den Haag ligt er zo'n 10 cm. Gisteren maakte ik een lange wandeling, genietend van de sneeuwvlokken die op m'n hoofd dwarrelden. En wat een feestje om door een mooie stille witte stad te lopen, zelfs midden in de stad was het rustig. Helaas moest ik vandaag werken en kon ik de sneeuw alleen door het raam zien. Natuurlijk eindigen mijn winter wandelingen thuis met warme chocolademelk met slagroom, blauwe bessen en mijn favoriete Kerst muziek van Smith & Burrows.

Wallpaper has made its comeback for years now. More and more you see it: walls covered with paintings of old masters, industrial walls or old family pictures. I already wrote this blog about Palmtrees at the wall, but how about a forest in your home?

To get a real winter feeling it would be great to have a forest at the wall. If you take a look at Pinterest, you see that a lot of these wallpapers are placed in the bedroom. But I also like it in other rooms.

Behang is weer helemaal terug van weggeweest sinds een aantal jaar. Meer en meer zie je het muren bekleed met schilderijen van oude meesters, industriële muren of oude familie foto's. Al eerder maakte ik een blog met deze mooie prints van palmbomen, maar wat denk je van een bos in je huis? Om een echt wintergevoel te krijgen is een bos aan de muur een mooie sfeermaker. Als je op Pinterest naar inspiratie zoekt, zie je dat dit behang veel wordt gebruikt in de slaapkamer. Maar het staat ook heel mooi op andere plekken. Durf jij het, een bos op de muur?

These days it's cold and grey...

Suddenly it feels like winter. And since November has started, it's time to get some Christmas inspiration. Normally I can't wait till November and start my Christmas inspiration as soon as the days are getting shorter. But this year I wasn't inspired at all. With these colder days, ideas start bubbling, especially when I saw the IKEA Vinter collection. 

I think this will be a starry Christmas at my home with some natural accents...

Het is weer koud en grijs november weer deze dagen... Dan voelt het ineens weer als winter. En omdat November gestart is, wordt het ook weer tijd voor Kerst inspiratie normaal beginnen bij mij de Kerst kriebels als de dagen korter worden. Maar dit jaar wilde dat gevoel maar niet komen. Totdat het ineens weer kouder werd; nu begint de inspiratie te stromen. Helemaal toen ik de Vinter collectie van IKEA zag. Ik denk dat het dit jaar een kerst met sterren en natuurlijke materialen gaat worden bij mij in huis...

This week it has been freezing cold in the Netherlands. Frosted white trees and some foggy evenings. At these days Hygge, the Danish expression for coziness, is the best. How I like these days to sit on the couch and enjoy reading a book and a warm blanket. Love this beautiful styled couch by Cleo Scheulderman. With a home like this it may freeze until the end of February!

De afgelopen week was het winter koud. Bevroren witte bomen en een paar mistige avonden. Perfect weer voor Hygge: de Deense uitdrukking voor gezelligheid. Op dit soort dagen wil ik niets liever dan 's avonds lekker op de bank zitten met een boek en een warme deken. Deze prachtige door Cleo Scheulderman gestylde bank vind ik geweldig. Met een huis als dit mag het van mij vriezen tot eind februari.

Alhoewel het nu echt winterkoud wordt en het vriest, is het juist nu leuk om aandacht aan je tuin te besteden. Met een warme deken en mooie kachel kun je een fijne plek creëren. Wat vind ik deze groen grijze winter terras inspiratie van Home & Garden mooi! Als ik dit zie hoop ik op een heleboel zonnige wintermiddagen in de tuin!

Af en toe een blauwe lucht waar de silhouetten van bomen mooi tegen af steken. Zo zonder bladeren vind ik ze prachtig in al hun eenvoud. Daarom vandaag een prachtig moodboard van April and May met bomen in de hoofdrol.

Back from Barcelona, it was really difficult to "land" this time. 

The weather didn't help: cold, grey, storm and rain...

So the last days of my vacation I didn't do much than being at home, listening to music, reading magazines, blogs and looking at Instagram and now and then watching tv or reading a book. Lightning the candles, drinking a cup of tea or hot chocolate and sitting on the couch wit a warm wool blanket was how I enjoyed myself. Unfortunately, I don't have a fireplace...

Alle reden om je huis versieren voor de kerst.

Fotograaf en stylist Lene Samsø en haar familie hebben een prachtig huis vlak bij het bos in Nordsjælland in Denemarken. Niet alleen buiten, maar ook binnen hebben zwart, wit en sepia een hoofdrol. De kerstversiering is subtiel, maar geweldig in combinatie met oude meesters of hippe posters.
